Daily Inspiration: Meet Cobey (Boyo Levity) Paiz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cobey (Boyo Levity) Paiz.

Hi Cobey (Boyo Levity), we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been playing piano since I was around 10 years old. Some of my inspirations include, The Doors, Pink Floyd, The Beatles and other classic rock bands. I started to have jam sessions with friends once I got to high school and began recording music once I was around 16. I started out on Garagband but have been using Logic ever since. Today I produce instrumentals, edit vocals, mix and master songs, edit podcast, radio shows and long format content, sound designing gigs. Audio to Visual creations, music videos, and just overall experimental artwork, as well as clothing/merch.

I am lucky to work with all sorts of different artists around the world virtually, mainly underground.

I am also a family man, currently working in the medical field during the day while doing my gigs and collaborations in the afternoon and weekends. I have a beautiful girlfriend named Bella who works in the dental field, my daughter Lily (8) who is also an aspiring artist/content creator, and my crazy animals Cookie (Dog), Rumi (Cat), Strawberry (Snake)

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been times when I question if all this is even worth it?

I have had instances where I have taken long breaks (over a year) and have not been motivated to create.

Sometimes there are times when a project is too challenging and you sort of have to take a step back, and reanalyze the situation. Sometimes you have to start completely over from scratch. Or if something is not gelling well in the mix, ask the artist to re-record a vocal line. Or if we can replace the beat or instrument.

There have been instances where an artist has only a raw recording with no real understanding of how to record. Or has any sort of musical training/knowledge, such as proximity to the microphone, sibilance, room treatment etc.

Working on projects like these are difficult but can also be the most rewarding in the end, especially once you’ve been able to exceed the expectations of the artist, turning their armature demo into a pro sounding mix.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am mostly know in my community of artists as a beatmaker/producer.
However I have had a lot more vocal mixing gigs this passed year (2025) than ever before. Vocal mixing has been a fun and challenging journey where you are constantly learning new techniques. Realizing every vocal sounds different and there are so many combinations of mic/plugins and gear to achieve a great recording. And you are not going to please every vocalist with your mix initially it will take some reworks.

In my community of artists we like to try and showcase them as much as possible, by creating promotions on Instagram and other social media platforms. Occasionally creating a YouTube video for the artist to either post on their channel or it will get posted on the Boyo Levity Producer channel.

A more recent accomplishment has been working on long format radio show content.
I worked on an episode of the “Cloud Chambers of the Primordial 808” which is a radio show based in Berlin, Germany.
My roll in this project was the primary sound designer and overall production of the timeline of the show. Along with mixing in the various songs that were submitted to the show.

What sets me apart from others? I am not sure, maybe it could be that I am easy to work with, and I am open to working on any genre from Rock to Pop to Heavy Metal to Trap to Boom Bap, I also have done Electronic and Classical collaborations.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risks are necessary when chasing any dream. Some people will laugh or scoff or say “that’s nice,” but not expect much else from it. Word of mouth promotion is one of the fastest ways to grow, and sometimes you gotta just let everyone know you got talent, even if some of those people could care less.

It’s not about bragging but more about being proud of your body of work, proud enough that you know certain people that might not even be interested in it, should probably hear it anyway.

If you don’t take any risks, you will be in the same place for longer than needed.
