Daily Inspiration: Meet Claire Li

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Li.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Claire! Growing up in Taichung, Taiwan, my creative journey has been shaped by my background in industrial design. Working with physical prototypes taught me to uncover hidden details, refine ideas through iteration, and develop a deeper understanding of the creative process.

That hands-on mindset shapes how I approach digital design today, focusing on the small moments that make an experience not just functional but memorable. I’m now based in Los Angeles, designing humanized technology and crafting intentional experiences that make people smile.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road! Early on, I struggled with ambiguity, especially on projects where the vision was bold but very open-ended. Coming from industrial design, I wasn’t used to so much uncertainty and often second-guessed my decisions.

What changed everything was learning to ask better questions, collaborate closely, and share rough ideas early instead of aiming for perfection. Now I see ambiguity as a creative opportunity where the most exciting ideas start.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a product designer specializing in UX strategy and systems thinking for data-heavy products. I love turning overwhelming information into clear, human experiences.

Coming from industrial design, I bring a different perspective to digital products. What sets me apart is my willingness to experiment with tools and approaches, whether that’s building interactive prototypes, coding demos, or mapping out complex user flows on napkins. I believe the best solutions come from hands-on experimentation.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Curiosity, hands down. I’m always asking, “How can we make this better?” and “What if we tried something new?” That mindset pushes me to dig deeper into user needs, experiment with new tools, and look at assumptions from fresh angles. It’s opened doors to solutions I wouldn’t have found if I’d just stopped at the first idea, and it keeps me excited about every challenge.
