Daily Inspiration: Meet Celeste Briones & Penelope Ford of Rewild & Gather

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celeste Briones & Penelope Ford.

Hi Celeste and Penelope, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Rewild & Gather was born from a dream to continue to provide hair and skincare services for Penny and Celeste, after the salon where they were renting stations began moving in a different direction. Both masters and perfectionists in their craft—with over 30 years of experience—they envisioned a space of their own, one that would also include a record store.

The opportunity arrived in 2022, when 1550 S. Harbor Blvd became available. Nestled on the border of their hometown of Fullerton, in La Habra, the setting—with its towering palm trees and retro vintage plaza—evoked memories of their beloved Palm Springs. They say the stars aligned perfectly, and from that moment, they were unstoppable.

Penny, a DJ in Fullerton in the early 2000s known for spinning breakbeat, drum and bass, house, and an all-genre vinyl collection that would make any enthusiast envious, had always dreamed of owning a record shop. Celeste, a music lover and selector extraordinaire, brought her love for funk, hand-clap soul, groove, Latin jazz, and hip-hop to the genres that would fill the bins.

Together, Penny and Celeste envisioned a community space that felt like their living room—a place to hang out, play and listen to vinyl, and connect. A bright, open space that also allowed them to expand on their “real jobs” in haircare and skincare. They stretched logic and brought their dream to life.

Rewild & Gather is a one of a kind salon and vinyl boutique offering sensory experiences of SIGHT, SOUND, TOUCH, and SMELL—a place of connection and restoration, created to meet the needs of every guest. It features a curated selection of new and used vinyl records and accessories, thoughtfully sourced goods, art, and workshops by local artists, along with intentional services for whole mind and body wellness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest obstacle was ourselves. Believing in ourselves enough to put action into what we were manifesting took a little push, but we kept going. We believe in asking the universe for exactly what we want, but also know that you have to be ready for it, when it shows up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Celeste and Penny, two talented artists, excel in the experience economy, taking pride in providing services that leave their guests feeling and looking their best. The moment guests step into their space, they are enveloped in a captivating ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable experience.

Penny is renowned for her exceptional attention to detail, scissor over-comb techniques, and expertly blended short haircuts. Her precision cuts are meticulously crafted to ensure lasting beauty and timeless style, leaving clients with a confident and polished look.

Rooted in ritual and guided by intuition Celeste a holistic esthetician weaves her inner wisdom and healing practices into her treatments. From perfectly shaped brows to somatic skincare that focuses on the connection between the mind and the body, throughout all her treatments. Celeste creates a nurturing experience that goes beyond mere facials and waxing.
