Today we’d like to introduce you to Catherine Dzilenski.
Hi Catherine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started shooting for a farm-to-table restaurant group in Mystic, Connecticut eight years ago and branched out into wedding photography from there. At this stage, I’ve shot over 100 weddings all over the East Coast and have a group of full-service restaurant and hospitality clients that I create content for. In January of this year, I made the leap and moved my business to the West coast, operating mainly out of West LA.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were definitely growing pains along the way! I am mainly self-taught, so it took quite a bit of discipline and hard work to hone my skills. The biggest obstacle was moving my business across the country, but I have faith that I can rebuild the network I had and enter into a new community of content creators around LA.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in weddings and food and hospitality marketing content. I am most proud of the impact that my content has from a marketing perspective for my clients. The return on investment in professional photography is significant, especially in the culinary world. My ability to make clients feel comfortable in front of the lens sets me apart from others. I keep things moving, keep things light and low impact.
What makes you happy?
Happy clients make me happy! I love to see the reaction to my finished work.
