Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandan Jordan.
Hi Brandan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m from Detroit, MI and I started stand-up in 2006. From 2006-2016 I really didn’t take comedy serious as a career. It wasn’t till 2016, when I opened up for Toni Braxton is where I started taking it serious. I eventually moved to LA where I started putting myself in the mix. I have started my own podcast Don’t Blame me blame Detroit it’s on all the major platforms. I have had Amanda Seales, John Salley, Clint Coley, and Tahir Moore just to name a few. With more bigger names to come. I have written and produced my own web series titled Why Brandan which will be released this year. I’m on the road performing and still enjoying the process. It’s been a lot of downs with some ups taking this path. But I know my time to shine is right around the corner.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding my way with no instructions. Trying to navigate through this business with no direction can really hurt you. You don’t know where to go or who to ask. And if you do ask people are quick to turn their back on you if your not on. Living in Atlanta becoming homeless is just one example of the love I have for this comedy game.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a stand-up comic. I perform all over the country and I write scripts as well. I’m writing projects that I am filming. Also, projects I will be looking to sell. I am a podcast host which I love.
How do you think about happiness?
Seeing the success from all my friends in the comedy world. It’s only so many spots they are giving out. So if you get one I’m happy for you and now I have someone new to borrow money from…
