Daily Inspiration: Meet Beckoner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beckoner

Hi Beckoner, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am Beckoner, a full-fledged musician & I began my journey in musicianship at the young age of 8, when my father bought me an electric drum kit. I put the sticks down when I was 12 in favor of guitar and bass, and I’ve never turned back. Started singing at the age of 17, producing myself at 18 and the rest is history.
In my music catalog, you will find metal, emo trap, math rock, ambient, acoustic, and more tasty sounds. Take a listen for yourself!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I like to think I’m a very lucky person. I’m lucky to be alive and have the friends and family that I do, and I would say that my life has been very interesting. I don’t have the same every day struggles as most other people, but I still have my own battles that I face. Mental health is a priority of mine, so creating music has helped me with that immensely.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Playing guitar and singing on your own songs quickly changes how you view and listen to music. You become incredibly analytical, critical, and enthusiastic about the new sounds you discover. As for myself, I play guitar, bass, and sing, scream, produce as well as fulfill my own drum programming. My specialties include but are not limited to, emo trap, metal, and rock, and I do musician session work, where I am paid to rehearse and play in various bands.
I am most proud of my accolades, for I’ve played at world-famous venues like Whisky A Go Go, Viper Room, Chain Reaction, Nile Theatre, as well as toured the western United States, and played on various artists’ songs, such as Future of the Purple’s “Your Dystopic Creation Doesn’t Fear You,” and YUNG GRIM’s “Psychodrama.”

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Creating music, for it becomes seemingly permanent in my worldview.
My girlfriend, PoutyFairy, for she and I create music together and spend most of our days together. She’s my ride or die.
My cat, for he is fat, cuddly and lovely.
