Daily Inspiration: Meet Anna Chernova

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Chernova.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a tattoo artist from Europe and the founder of my own unique style. I have been tattooing for 12 years already, I have 2 art educations. Winner and permanent participant of tattoo conventions in Europe and USA. I am currently based in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was never smooth, starting from the fact that I was not taken to more than one tattoo convention, although I always really wanted to. Now, I sit on the panel of judges at these events. A bunch of my unrealized projects that were never realized. I think that depending on how my skill in tattoos grew, so did I.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a tattoo artist specializing in dark themes. I mainly create complex, custom designs. In my work, you can see all kinds of horror, dark fairy tales, and myths; this is what interests and inspires me, and what sets me apart from others. I am one of the few in the US who explores such shocking themes in my art, combining this with an exceptional and absolute mastery of traditional tattoo styles and techniques.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I think it’s definitely about being exceptional in everything you do. Finding your own path, ignoring trends and setting them yourself.
