Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Lustig
Hi Amy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was a competitive dancer growing up and knew that I wanted a career in front of the camera. I eventually pursued a career in real estate and got my license in 2001, shortly after that I started to do loans and got my mortgage license. when the market crashed in 2007 I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I still had that dream of performing in front of the camera. I started taking acting classes and got booked for gigs and have been working towards having a consistent job in front of the camera. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s worth it and I feel very blessed because I’ve learned a lot along the way about myself and the things that I want in life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No. It has not been a smooth road. There is a lot of rejection in the entertainment and real estate industry. I chose to work in the most inconsistent industries ever! Lol. I didn’t realize how hard it would be, but it’s worth it. I feel so great when I get booked or close a real estate transaction. It’s almost like a high but when it ends, I feel very sad.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a very genuine person and really love helping people. I work in real estate and in the entertainment industry. I wear a lot of hats. Lol. I am in the process of trying to create a lifestyle show that will educate the audience about hidden gems all over the world. From food to travel, and everything in between. I think what sets me apart from the rest is that I have a strong spirit and I never give up. I am proud of the fact that I have been able to support myself throughout the years and have overcome alot of struggles in the process.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Right now I’m reading a book about forgiveness. It’s called Forgiving what you can’t forget by Lysa Terkeurst. I’m really into self-care right now and healing from hurt that I’ve experienced in the past.
