Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Maxwell
Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Salem, OR. I attended the School of Journalism & Communication at University of Oregon. While studying public relations, my interest naturally gravitated to the digital side of communications. After graduating, I moved to Sacramento, CA. I interned with the Sacramento Kings and Golden 1 Center and this is when my creative side really flourished. From graphic design to video editing, concert coverage and more, this internship taught me so many things. I am forever grateful for my start there!
After my internship there, I worked closely with many local companies and brands around the community in Sacramento. The art and food scene in Sacramento is truly unmatched. My love for sharing digital stories, beauty in Instagram photos, and making your mouth water from a Reel, blossomed.
In 2021, I moved to Los Angeles and accepted a role with Justice HQ, working on branding and social media for attorneys. I work with each member of Justice HQ to define their personal brands, take photos of them to use to promote themselves at conferences and on social media, and work very closely on the JHQ company brand as well.
Outside of work, I love to find good cocktails, coffee, and food around LA and wherever I travel! I have a coffee and cocktails Intsagram account that has become a passion project of mine. It’s called Sunday Sips.
I also love photography! Mostly lifestyle, family, maternity, engagement, etc. That is something that I have really become passionate about as well. Finding the light in people’s eyes and sharing their personality through the photo.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, never! I have applied to so many jobs and it takes time to find the right ones or the right fits. There have been roles that seem SO cool but the culture or interview process was what drove me away. It’s important to find a place that you enjoy and wants you to succeed as well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I touched on this in my other answer but I am most proud of the photos I take! I feel that I have a special way of making people feel comfortable around a camera, letting their true personalities and feelings show.
As well as social content! I do a great job at capturing photos and videos to make social content that is engaging and appealing to people on any platform.
What matters most to you?
I think happiness matters most to me! I am a very big believer in doing things that make you happy. If a friendship or job isn’t serving you or making you happy, ask yourself what it is doing for you? It’s okay to pivot and change if there is no value. We only have one life and we deserve to find things we are passionate about and do things that make you happy. Be intentional!
