Daily Inspiration: Meet Aaron(sunday) Reaves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron(sunday) Reaves

Hi Aaron(Sunday), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started as a young black kid in the south side of Chicago, Full of dreams of making/doing something remarkable. Growing up with a strong mother, my older brother/sister I was the youngest. I’ve seen the amazing goals my family had and things they’ve wanted to accomplish and that gave me so much drive. I’ve always loved watching films, television show, movies , Indies all of the above. growing up I’ve always been a pretty outgoing kid around those whom I trusted. I loved playing characters at home, pretending I won Oscars, preparing my Oscar speech, then inevitably throwing the speech away and speaking off the top of the head cause that was part of my bit. when I got a bit older around 12 I decided to put this acting thing to the test. my mom took me to one of those Disney audition SCAMSSS of course we didn’t know it at the time lol. I auditioned with this small commercial script, it read something along the lines of “I really like orange juice, would you like some?” when I finished reading with my mom outside of the room. this man literally was like “that was terrible, learn how to act and go do some theatre” as much as that hurt at 12 years old lol I really took those words to heart and as soon as high school hit got right into theatre. I did other sports like wrestling, baseball, football, all through my 4 years but I always made theatre my priority. I was consider a popular guy but for the reason of ‘I was friendly with everyone’ so me going (theatre) kind of made people think it was pretty cool, I even got on of my close friends Xavier lane to join which he absolutely succeeded in. 4 years in I was doing production after production, Les miserables , In the heights(I was Benny) ,lend me a tenor, little shop of horrors etc. then with the experience/tools I learned in theatre and in my high school acting class I got on backstage an auditioned for a movie called Lizard Boy by shun Powell a very talented black film maker , director ,writer. I ended up booking that roll out of about 300 different actors which filmed in Wisconsin. when I asked why me, all shun said was “when I saw your tape, I knew you were my lizard” that was my first ever film where I met amazing people such as my co-start Tyrell brown(Ty). To this day my favorite ever on set experience. I loved acting but I truly fell in love with the craft after that film. fast forward I end up going back to that same scam agency just to see what would happen and guess what, it was the SAME GUY. I auditioned again and he didn’t remember me because I’ve grown quite a bit. he loved my audition and wanted me to pay 3000 dollars to. go to some deserted island(LA) to get in a movie blah blah blah the typical scam bullshit. so I rejected the offer and left. bro couldn’t believe it., I just wanted to show who’ve I became and Im glad I was able too. since then I have been in hit shows like Power Book Force:Season 2, Chicago Fire, The year Between(movie) and many more projects.I have since moved to LA to pursue this dream, having many amazing things coming out this year of 2025. A piece of advice- Always believe in yourself, whatever dream you have. you have to eat, sleep, and breath that dream. want it so bad that it has to come to fruition .. because dreams can become reality. if you want to be an actor then put in the work, if you do then ill.. see YOU at work
For those who believe in me thank you “for my friends,107” I’m extremely grateful for you all

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
believing in yourself is the hardest part, some of us don’t have the funds to invest in good lighting for auditions or an iPhone/camera or laptop. but if theirs a will then theirs a way. I’ve invested tons in my career from, headshots, lighting , backdrop etc. when you invest in yourself then you will succeed . YOU are YOUR brand

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Acting/modeling. I have a crazy drive that’ll never stop. I’m never satisfied and I always want to do more. that’s why I’m successful. I truly love what I do so it doesn’t feel like work. I’ve never worked a day in my life doing this.

How do you think about luck?
God, all god. Luck, no luck.. doesn’t matter. if its for me..it will be
