Conversations with Zaza Asteria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zaza Asteria.

Hi Zaza, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my music journey being 5 years old as a classically trained pianist. I finished music school and moved to Cambridge to study music composition and audio engineering, later moved to London to continue my studies and work on my songwriting, music production, and artistry at the same time. Later continuing my path as a musician I became a music producer and a songwriter of my songs.

Based in Los Angeles I explored and worked with a wide variety of genres from Hip-Hop to Electronic Music learning from the best in the game and being mentored and working with multi-platinum producers and songwriters including Jimmy Duval (XXXtentacion, Lil Pump, Rich the kid), Adam Kapit [A list K-pop artists], Mexico City and more.

I grew up listening to Timbaland, Jay-z, and Kanye West and they became an inspiration for my early music production style. Later in life, I discovered my passion for EDM, House & Tribal music, which I started learning to produce right away. Now my music is a compilation of all genres from Pop to EDM, I use elements of Tribal music in most of my music, which makes it unique and futuristic.

I continue to expand my musical abilities constantly learning and advancing in songwriting, artistry, and music production, and building my business “Asteria Space Sound” where I and my team provide full-service production and have 3 recording studios that we have partnered with to handle different types of projects.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, however a very interesting and exciting one. The first and biggest struggle for me was to become fluent in English and get my accent right (Russian is my first language). The second biggest struggle has been learning to live on my own abroad.

I moved to Cambridge when I was only 16 and since then I haven’t stopped learning foreign cultures, communication ways, accents, and just, in general, adapting to different ways of life perception in certain cities and countries I happen to live and work in.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am creative. I create music, lyrics, performances, and business… This is what I do, my alchemy is essential, by connecting different lines of work I build a structure of a bigger picture, where I can play different roles or delegate accordingly.

People come to me mostly for my music production abilities and management of digital projects such as digital avatars and metaverse engagement. I am most proud of my ever-expanding knowledge in both music and business as well as the diversity of projects I handle musically.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I consider myself a lucky person, considering the support I had from my family, friends, and mentors. I am certain that measurable accomplishments have been mostly due to work, energy, and curiosity factors.
