Conversations with Yash Singh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yash Singh

Hi Yash, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my photography journey in 2016 while still in school, studying to become a graphic designer. Photography started as a hobby but quickly grew into a business as I began working with influencers, small businesses, and realtors. Over the past eight years, I built my career as a professional photographer in Houston, Texas, specializing in fashion and lifestyle photography. This year, I moved to Los Angeles to further my career, with the goal of shooting for brands and celebrities. I’m excited about the opportunities here and hope to expand my work to include travel as well.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey in Texas was fairly smooth, with my business growing steadily. However, moving to LA has been more challenging than I anticipated. The competition here is intense, with people from all over the world aiming to do exactly what I’m pursuing. Despite the challenges, I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be here and to grow as a photographer. The experience is pushing me to elevate my work and adapt in ways I hadn’t expected.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

As a street style fashion and lifestyle photographer, I specialize in capturing the energy and authenticity of urban environments and events. While my early work focused heavily on natural lighting, I’ve recently expanded my expertise to include flash / artificial light photography, allowing me to adapt to a variety of settings and create dynamic, impactful images.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the genuine connections I’ve built with my clients. Many of them have become good friends, which speaks to the trust and comfort they feel when working with me. This translates into the final images, making them not just photographs, but reflections of shared experiences. My work showcases a broad versatility, developed over the years, which enables me to deliver results that are both diverse and true to the unique style of each client.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck, whether good or bad, is often shaped by the effort we put in and the connections we cultivate. In my experience, the ‘good luck’ I’ve encountered in life and business has been a direct result of hard work, building meaningful relationships, and consistently being kind and respectful to others. These elements have created opportunities and positive outcomes that some might call luck, but I see them as the rewards of dedication and genuine human connection.
