Armoured Regalia, a handmade jewelry business specializing in chainmail, started as a passion project. The journey began with a childhood fascination for all things fantasy-related, from medieval tales to vibrant anime worlds. This love for the fantasy genre grew stronger with each passing year. As an adult, I began attending anime conventions and Renaissance faires, which led to an intense appreciation for the intricate costumes and jewelry showcased at these events.
Captivated by the artistry and dedication behind these handmade creations, I felt a deep desire to contribute to this enchanting world. I first started crafting cosplay props, and the journey soon evolved into chainmail and jewelry making. What began as a small hobby quickly became an all-consuming passion, as I found jewelry making both intuitive and rewardingly challenging.
With growing experience and recognition, the decision to launch Armoured Regalia was born out of a desire to connect with a like-minded community. This brand embodies what many wish to see in the world: adornments that bring confidence, beauty, and power to their wearers. Each piece crafted by Armoured Regalia is a testament to the belief that everyone deserves to step into their own fantasy, just as I did when starting this venture.

I’m incredibly happy to say that it’s been a smooth road so far. I feel like the work is incredibly rewarding and though there have certainly been challenges, Armoured Regalia has only grown steadily. My main struggle has been learning to take care of my physical and mental health while running this business, as well as balancing my work and personal life as I still hold a traditional 9-5 job outside of Armoured Regalia.

Each creation is meticulously crafted using high-quality materials such as stainless steel, genuine pearl, semi-precious gemstones, real bone, and more, ensuring that every piece is as durable as it is beautiful.
What truly sets Armoured Regalia apart is their signature body harness sets, aptly named “Regalia.” The term “Regalia” evokes images of royalty, status, and power, and these intricate body jewelry pieces live up to that name. They blend elements from the worlds of burlesque and fetish with styles inspired by baroque, renaissance, and medieval aesthetics. Each Regalia is a unique, one-of-a-kind adornment, custom-made to fit individual measurements, seamlessly merging fashion with fantasy.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
San Gabriel Valley is where I was born and raised; I love the diversity and beauty of it. I’m constantly inspired by the things I experience and see here. Additionally, as an Asian-American, I feel safe, seen, and represented within this community.
Living in San Gabriel Valley feels like being part of a vibrant tapestry woven from countless cultures and traditions. The diverse food scene is a treasure trove, offering everything from mouth-watering tacos to comforting bowls of pho. Every meal is an adventure, and I love discovering new flavors and hidden gems in local eateries.
The cultural richness here is another aspect that fills me with pride. Festivals and community events bring people together, celebrating the unique heritage of each group. Whether it’s the Lunar New Year parade or lively markets, there’s always something happening that makes me appreciate the melting pot we live in.
And then there’s the scenic beauty and charm throughout. The San Gabriel Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to our daily lives, offering a serene escape for hiking and outdoor activities. The views are breathtaking, and the natural surroundings are a constant reminder of the beauty that envelops us.
The old town charm and architectural highlights in places like Pasadena and Altadena also add a unique character to the area. Walking through Old Pasadena, with its historic brick buildings and cobblestone courtyards, feels like stepping back in time. Altadena, too, has its share of architectural delights. The mix of ranch houses, craftsman homes, and Spanish haciendas creates a picturesque setting.
However, like any place, San Gabriel Valley has its challenges. Traffic can be a real headache, especially during peak hours. Navigating the busy streets can test anyone’s patience. Another concern is the air quality. There are days when the smog hangs heavily, making outdoor activities less enjoyable and raising health concerns.
Despite these issues, the positives far outweigh the negatives for me. San Gabriel Valley is a place of inspiration and beauty, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
