Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzette Labra.
Hi Suzette, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Of course! I come from a family of musicians, so music was always around—not always for fun, but often as work. I always danced, but I didn’t write my first song until I was 18. Before that, I was the kid who gathered cousins and friends to put on performances in the living room for our family or neighbors—on a random Tuesday.
My house, especially the living room, was filled with stage gear, cables, and microphones. I was constantly quoting my favorite Y2K movies, writing down movie ideas in my notebooks, sharing them with my closest friends, and dreaming about being on Disney Channel or one of those big networks.
Cinema has always been a huge part of my life. I love storytelling — always loved a good music video with a story to follow. That’s how the Zettiverse (my world) was born: a place where pop music, storytelling, movement, and visuals come together.
At school, I studied communications, theater, (in Mexico) and Stagecraft (in Los Angeles), and worked in every kind of setting to survive and pay bills— retail, entertainment, food service. The best part is, after a few years i had the best opportunity to do “jobs” for companies like Disney+ and Warner Bros. Of course each job taught me something I use today as an artist and performer. No matter the field.
Now, I’m based in Miami, preparing for new shows, releasing new music, and still blending pop with visual storytelling. My first songs came late but the vision was always there.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For sure it wasn’t, im sure it is not easy for anyone that is pursuing art in Los Angeles, but mine was definitely a road with a great soundtrack. Music has always been there for me and my mental health, literally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a pop artist, dancer, performer, and storyteller. At my core, I specialize in creating — whether it’s through music, movement, visuals, or full-blown story worlds. Right now, I’m focused on bringing all my childhood, teen, and adult dreams to life. That includes writing songs, building imaginative universes, filming sci-fi-inspired music videos, and even developing original scripts for TV shows.
I’m really proud of the brand I’m building as an artist. It’s not just about aesthetics — it’s about the heart behind it all. The Zettiverse isn’t just a look or a vibe, it’s a reflection of everything I’ve dreamed up and now dared to make it real.
What sets me apart probably is that I don’t follow trends I don’t genuinely connect with. I lead with what I love — even if it’s quirky, nostalgic, or “too much” for some. I’m not afraid to be the first one on the dance floor or throw a full-on themed birthday where everyone dresses up and does the cringy-but-iconic stuff — because honestly, those are the moments people remember.
And that’s what I try to create in my work: moments that feel bold, sincere, and fun.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
i will have to pick 3.
1. Saturdays with my mom and brother, the whole living room space was empty cause dad was working with all the music stuff, so it felt like i had a huge empty platform, silky dancefloor or just space to perform, play on skates with Isaac (my brother), eat pizza and blast music. My mom always loved blasting good music.
2. Summers at my place, dad would fill up a small pool for all the cousins and us, “carne asada” with the fam and all you can eat cause all the ‘tías’ would bring amazing home-made stuff.
3. Christmas performances, lol. I wasn’t the only crazy one, me and my cousins would love to put up a show.
