Conversations with Spidey De Montrond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Spidey De Montrond.

Spidey De Montrond

Hi Spidey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been in the music business professionally since 1996 when I was signed to Capitol Records in Hollywood, CA to a recording contract as a singer-songwriter. Since that time I’ve been writing songs, jingles, and a bit soundtrack work for the film. I’d been playing the guitar as a working professional in LA, being a sideman in local bands, singed groups, doing club dates, touring, and playing with my own band since 1990. Recently I released an album from the new group The Gentle Orchestra on Now Sounds Records called “Synonymity”. It’s been slowly picking up momentum worldwide boasting 12000 views of the official music video on YouTube entitled “Lonely”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth well not sure, but my main focus is a high bar of quality, so any obstacles are merely opportunities for greatness. It’s all perspective.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer-songwriter, arranger, guitar player, and producer. This is what I am hopefully known for. I am most proud of my latest release by The Gentle Orchestra ” Synonymity”. What sets the work apart is its depth and its craftsmanship of the songs, the performances, the mixing, arranging, and producing of a great body of work.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Diversity I like. Traffic I dislike.
