Today we’d like to introduce you to Samuel Silva Sanches.

Hi Samuel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories. 
I discovered my artistic gift at age 5. A teacher, amazed by my detailed drawing of a woman with a vase, praised me. This ignited a passion for storytelling. I progressed from storyboarding to creating my own animations with unique characters, stories, and worlds. Uninterested in copying, I thrived on originality. At 18, inspired by a desire to impact lives, I set my sights on becoming a director. My goal is to tell meaningful stories, help people navigate their struggles, and make a positive difference—ultimately leading me to pursue a career in Hollywood. 

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, my first major challenge involved distancing myself from family, navigating life independently. While I had some support, the world proved tough. In Orlando, studying English for a crucial NYFA film program entry, I faced a life-altering car accident. Everything hinged on communicating my situation. It marked a turning point where I learned to be resilient and self-reliant. Upon arriving in LA, I dwelled in a motel amidst unsettling surroundings. Overcoming fear, I prayed for safety, faced culinary challenges, but eventually honed my cooking skills. Despite the hardships, I triumphed in the English test, gaining entry into NYFA—a dream realized through persistent effort. The journey was arduous, but it transformed me into the determined and capable individual I am today.

As a seasoned filmmaker, I specialize in directing films, managing lighting, and coordinating film equipment. My proficiency extends to writing, with a focus on organizing the visual aesthetics and narrative goals of a project. Renowned for my positive mindset, unwavering persistence, and a direct approach to achieving objectives, I consistently steer projects toward their intended targets with precision and efficiency. 

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I am confident that I will establish a prominent presence in the industry, directing major Hollywood films and participating in esteemed film festivals alongside my future wife and family.
