Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamyla St James.
Hi Pamyla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started an aftercare at the W hotel in Westwood in 2001. The concept was to target cosmetic surgery patients in the celebrity and entertainment arena. I was lucky enough through aggressive marketing of getting on Access Hollywood. They filmed an 11 minute shoot at the W and from that point I was asked to be on The Swan, both seasons and Dr 90210, Fabulous Life, etc
I have had the prof working with the most renown surgeons in the world.
Prive’ the retreat became a household word in Beverly Hills. I went on to open in Newport Beach. My business was featured in New Beauty magazine , Recover in Style.
I designed the aftercare based on giving the patients high end in every aspect for a fair price.. I have always treated everyone the same and offered the same service to everyone , never based on whether you are a celebrity or single housewife and mother.
Three years ago I gifted Prive’ to my loyal assistant who came to the US with nothing. I taught her everything she knows about the business and continue to market the business for her. I am launching my own brand. The Pamyla St James experience in 1/2026. Private nursing for plastic surgery patients offered by nothing other than me, the aftercare extraordinaire
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was a smooth road as my mentor, Jack Roth, a successful advertising agency in Century City taught me how to target a unique marketing plan that involved getting on TV.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a creative woman who started a business to inspire and empower people to look and feel their best to build confidence.
What separated me from other aftercare’s was the fact that the W hotel was willing to market me at the height of med spas and realty TV. They were tremendous in hyping my business. I also was doing business at Shelly Sterling’s hotel, The Beverly Hills Plaza Hotel and she gave me a big start S she believed in my business plan.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I think meeting as many creative, entrepreneurs as possible and picking up ideas of successful business owners is the key.
