Today we’d like to introduce you to Niyah Norton.
Hi Niyah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Oh gosh where do I start?.. Well I’ve always had huge dreams and I knew I was a star at a very young age. I let the traumas of the world detour me from who I knew I was and it was a very long/dark path. I alchemized my situation through sheer faith and determination. Even when things seemed like I had no way out, I persevered and I made it to LA through my faith. I’ve pursued music from a young age and I am finally feeling like I am in a good place in my career, even if I don’t have a million dollar deal. I feel like things are finally flowing for me and opportunities are coming hot… just like this one. So thank you 🩷
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My life has been far from smooth. As said before, I let the traumas of the world and projections of others around me, make me see myself in a light that I could not be proud of. I allowed a narcissistic man in my energy for 7 years too long. That relationship took almost all of my light force. “Friends” and people around me saw my light as well and did everything in their power to make sure I couldn’t. I learned to take accountability for what I allow and I redirected myself. I moved from my hometown, Kansas City, MO to live with my grandma in Arkansas for about 2 years. I needed to heal. I needed to get away. I was able to recover my heart and soul and now I’m ready to take on the world!!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artist of all kinds! I look at life like a blank canvas just ready to be filled with adventure! My favorite art forms however are music & fashion. Those are the 2 lanes in which my self expression is at its peak. I create music that I love. I am currently working on my first fulll music project; Happy Daze The Mixtape which I am BEYOND excited to experience the journey for. People tell me my songs are very inspiring and I love it because they’re completely, authentically, me🩷 That makes me proud. It makes me proud to see a project come to fruition, no matter what it is.. a painting, a song, an outfit, a movie, etc.. What sets me apart from the crowd is that I don’t follow the crowd. I’ve paved my own lane in everything I do, because I’m authentically me and nobody can duplicate that. No one can be Niyah🩷
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am so open to creating. I would love to collaborate with other artists & any one down to collab really. I am in need of producers, engineers, I really need a camera man/videographer! I can’t keep shooting all the footage! lol 🩷 I would love any creative or financial support available to me while on my musical journey in LA.
