Today we’d like to introduce you to Mo Holley.
Hi Mo, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started writing poetry in 2013, using it as a way to express what I couldn’t say out loud. Eventually, those poems transformed into songs, and I soon found myself stepping into rap battles — sharpening my voice, presence, and pen. In 2014, I co-founded a music group called “Goldenage” with a close friend, and that’s when my real journey as an artist began.
Since then, I’ve released over 200 songs, 8 music videos, 4 EPs, 1 group project, and 8 full-length solo projects. Along the way, tracks like “Get Out the Way,” “Main Goal,” “Bo$$ed Up,” and “Champion” have stood out as defining records — each one marking a moment of growth, hunger, and elevation in my sound. From raw poetry to full-scale production, I’ve built a catalog that reflects both the grind and the passion behind the music.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This path hasn’t been easy. I’ve dealt with betrayal from people I loved, toxic relationships, and situations that took a real toll on my mental and emotional health. At times, everything outside of music felt heavy — but music became my escape, my therapy, and my way of healing. It’s where I’m the most vulnerable, where I pour out my emotions and push through the hardest moments.
In the beginning it was tough not getting recognition as well , it felt discouraging at times. But I stayed consistent, stayed true to myself, and slowly started building a real audience that connects with the story, the sound, and the message.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I write, produce, and record all of my music. I’m known for the quality of my craft and my ability to bring raw emotion and real entertainment through every release. What I’m most proud of is my dedication—I’ve been on this journey for 10 years, and I’m still going strong. While many would’ve given up, I’ve stayed committed to my dream, and the recognition continues to grow day by day.
What sets me apart is the passion and love I have for music. My sound lives in a space between underground and mainstream, and I’ve developed a versatility that allows me to master different vibes and styles of Hip-Hop. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to perfect my sound—and that’s what makes my music stand out.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Music is always evolving sometimes changing year to year, but in Hip-Hop especially, we see new artists breaking through every few months. That fast pace can be challenging, but it also creates more opportunities. I believe we’re moving toward a time where independent artists like myself will have an even better shot at gaining exposure and building a real platform, without needing the traditional industry backing.
