Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Morales.
Matthew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in the nightclub business when I was 18 years old. First club I worked for was “The Grand Ave” in downtown LA where I would met DJ KAZAA, we became good friends and eventually he would show me how to dj. After two and a half years there, I moved over to Hollywood where I would run the largest 18 and over party “Hollywood Live” which was at Arena nightclub. I ran Hollywood Live for about six years and that six years, I would meet Dj Carisma from Power106. We became good friend started hanging out going to events with her, she would introduce me to other djs from Dj Inferno, Vickone, Dj Amen, Dre Sinatra and the list goes on. I became cool with everyone and eventually, I would be added to the YOUNG CALIFORNIA DJ Roster. That help me build myself as a DJ at the time, I started djing clubs from Belasco, The Globe, Ohm nightclub, Mansion Costa Mesa, Avalon, and more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has its ups and downs but I have a solid relationship with just about everyone in the industry.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a DJ, graphic designer and photographer but I only shoot on my free time.
Everything I do I’m proud of. If I wasn’t proud of what I do, I wouldn’t be doing it.
