Today we’d like to introduce you to Matt Elliott.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello there, I’m Matt Elliott and I’m here to help you with your home loan needs as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the Veteran Lending Team. I grew up in in a blue collar community which takes great pride in military service. In fact, many of my high school classmates, including myself, decided to serve our country.
Graduating high school just a few months before the tragic events of 9/11, I felt an overwhelming sense of patriotism and the urge to make a difference. I was inspired by a friend who served with the Navy Seabees in Iraq and decided to join the Marines as an 0311 Rifleman in 2006, right smack in the middle of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
As a Marine, I was deployed to Iraq in 2009 and was stationed at Combat Outpost Waleed on the Iraq-Syria border. It was a challenging experience, but one that I’m immensely proud of. After my military service, I transitioned to the mortgage industry and gained an in-depth knowledge of home loans, starting as a Home Loan Processor and eventually becoming a Loan Officer Assistant.
Now, as a Mortgage Loan Originator, I’m proud to be able to provide home loan options to veterans and anyone else who needs it. It’s a personal calling for me to assist my fellow veterans with buying their own homes and advocating for their best interests. Whether you’re a veteran or not, I’m dedicated to providing you with the best possible home loan options.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. If you have any questions or want to learn more about your home loan options, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s make your home ownership dreams a reality!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
VA Home Loans can be very difficult to fund in some cases. There is more you can do with a VA Home Loan than other loan types such as conventional. The Underwriting Guidelines are more favorable to get approved. But with flexible under writing standards comes in depth knowledge of the VA Process. I started off as a Loan Processor then a Loan Officer Assistant before becoming a Mortgage Loan Originator. This has really helped me have an in-depth knowledge of the process and how to get veterans approved for loans. The most difficult files are the most rewarding once they are completed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Mortgage Loan Originator that specializes in VA Loans. My passion for helping Veterans buy homes is what sets me apart from my competitors. I am a Marine Iraq War Veteran and am very dedicated to helping Veterans purchase homes. I have an in-depth knowledge of the VA Home Loan Process because I started off as a Mortgage Loan Processor then Loan Officer Assistant and now, I am a Mortgage Loan Originator. I have helped veterans buy homes for $67,000 all the way up to 1.3 million dollars. I treat every veteran the same and am passionate about helping veterans all over LA and LA County buy homes.
