Ciao! I’m Martina Di Napoli, an Italian woman who has called the U.S. home since 2006. My passion for creating unforgettable events has always been at the heart of my journey. Growing up, I was inspired by the polished, well-dressed individuals running the events I admired, always thinking, “One day, that will be me.”
My professional path began in hospitality, where I worked for over a decade while immersing myself in a new language and culture. This experience fueled my desire to pursue a career in event planning. In 2020, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Event Management from Cal Poly Pomona’s Collins College, where I honed my skills and deepened my love for crafting experiences that leave lasting memories.
From there, I embarked on my career journey, working with both a global corporate company and a private luxury events firm. What started as a dream became a reality as I transitioned from a passionate hobby to a thriving profession. As my skills and confidence grew, I knew it was time to take the leap into entrepreneurship.
In 2022, I founded Storia Mia Events, an event planning company with a personal touch. The name “Storia Mia” means “my story” in Italian, it reflects the idea that every event is a unique narrative waiting to unfold. Whether it’s a wedding, a milestone celebration, or a social gathering, I believe each event tells its own story, and I work to make sure that story is told with elegance and authenticity.
While I wear many hats as the owner of Storia Mia—managing operations, overseeing marketing, and creating unforgettable experiences—I remain deeply passionate about the core of my business: event design and production. As a solo entrepreneur, I know there’s always more to learn, but I’m driven by the belief that Storia Mia has the potential to make people’s most important life moments happen, beautifully and seamlessly.
Storia Mia Events serves clients across Southern California and even offers destination planning in Italy, bringing a touch of Italian elegance to events near and far. I am excited for the future and look forward to continuing to create meaningful, personalized experiences for every client, while staying true to my roots and my passion for bringing stories to life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I first started my company, I had no established connections to rely on. Every relationship, every opportunity, had to be built from the ground up. It was a constant grind to create meaningful connections and expand my network, but through persistence and determination, I gradually started to see results. Although it wasn’t easy, the effort invested in cultivating these relationships has been instrumental in shaping my career journey

Our event planning expertise extends across Southern California, specializing in weddings, special occasions, and corporate galas. Storia Mia is not just an event planner company but a storyteller, where hospitality and creativity dance together to ensure your special occasion unfolds with grace, sophistication, and joy. We serve all Southern California locations and destinations in Italy and Los Cabos, Mexico
What sets us apart At Storia Mia Events, we take pride in the gift of giving back, making a difference with every event and every moment we have. Two groups that are especially deserving of our support are animals and students. Both face unique challenges, and by extending a helping hand, we can create a positive ripple effect that transforms lives. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocacy, there are countless ways to make an impact.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
As a kid, I was captivated by dance and the vibrant world of MTV. I was drawn to the energy, creativity, and passion that radiated from the performances. It sparked a dream in me—to move to the US! My passion for dance and the entertainment industry kept me pushing forward, even when the journey seemed like an uphill battle, and finally with the discovery of the hospitality industry and love for events everything come together.
