Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Poe.
Hi Lindsey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, I’m Lindsey — a certified pediatric sleep specialist and proud mom of two busy toddlers.
My journey into the world of pediatric sleep began back in 2019 when I was expecting my first child. At the time, I was working full-time in the senior healthcare industry — a career I loved deeply and poured my heart into. But shortly after returning from maternity leave, the reality of new motherhood hit me hard: I was completely exhausted and running on fumes.
I’ve always been someone who loves sleep. As a kid, teen, and adult, I never underestimated the power of a good night’s rest (or a solid nap!). So when sleep deprivation took over, I knew something had to change — not only for my daughter’s development but for my own wellbeing and sanity.
That realization sparked my passion. I dove headfirst into researching pediatric sleep patterns and supportive ways to help babies (and parents!) get the rest they need. Then, in 2021, life surprised us with baby number two — two under two! This time, armed with everything I had learned, I was able to bring the gift of sleep back to our entire household much faster.
It was during those early years that I discovered my true calling: helping other families find peace, rest, and balance through healthy sleep. As a new stay-at-home mom, I began supporting friends and local parents who were struggling, and the difference it made inspired me to pursue formal certification as a pediatric sleep specialist.
Now that my toddlers are off to school, I’m thrilled to dedicate my full time to helping families overcome sleep challenges — whether it’s extending naps, reshaping bedtime routines, consolidating overnight sleep, or easing those toddler bedtime battles. Every family I work with receives personalized, compassionate support that fits their unique home life and parenting style.
I named my practice Home Sleep Home because I truly believe that when a child isn’t sleeping well, the whole house feels it. Rest is a family affair — and it really does take a village within your home to nurture healthy, lasting sleep habits.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey to where I am today has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. Every child and family I work with brings a completely unique dynamic—and with that, a unique set of sleep struggles. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to helping little ones and their exhausted parents get the rest they need.
The real challenge lies in tailoring a plan that not only meets the specific needs of the child but also fits the family’s lifestyle, comfort level, and home environment. It’s a delicate balance—but one I’m passionate about navigating.
Thankfully, I’m not in this alone. I’m part of an incredible network of over 500 certified sleep consultants across the U.S. With just a message, I can tap into a wealth of experience, insights, and support. Together, we brainstorm and troubleshoot to find creative, effective strategies that truly serve each family’s needs.
Of course, not every case ends in a picture-perfect success—and I’ll be honest, those moments weigh heavily on me. I care deeply about every child and family I support. But just as I remind every parent I work with: success comes from consistency and commitment. When families put in the work, the results almost always follow.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m deeply passionate about helping families create healthy sleep habits that last a lifetime. As a mom of two, I know exactly how it feels to face sleepless newborn nights and endless toddler bedtime battles. The exhaustion, the frustration, the fog—it impacts the whole family. That’s why I have made it my mission to guide and support families as they teach their child the essential skill of independent sleep—an ability that nurtures emotional well-being, fuels healthy development, and restores balance to a home.
Working one-on-one with each family, I assess children’s sleep routines, patterns, and environment to uncover what’s standing in the way of good rest. From frequent night wakings to short naps or bedtime struggles, I use evidence-based, family-centered strategies to design a personalized sleep plan that fits a families unique lifestyle and parenting approach.
My goal is to help my families achieve lasting, peaceful sleep—for the child and for the entire family. I believe that quality rest is the cornerstone of a happy, healthy home.
How do you think about happiness?
My greatest passion is supporting families and celebrating their wins—big and small. Before entering this field, I spent years in the senior healthcare industry, specializing in dementia care. There, I had the privilege of guiding families through the challenges of caring for their aging loved ones. That experience taught me the true meaning of compassion, patience, and empathy.
Now, walking alongside families in a new season of life—helping them nurture and care for their little ones—feels just as purposeful and rewarding. It’s a joy to continue doing meaningful work that strengthens families and brings peace to their homes.
