Today we’d like to introduce you to Leyli Sanchez
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my vision of who I am today with painting and seeing the different visuals I would bring to life. I would get a insight of my mind in a physical form. I later got more comfortable moving into another field of creative art and began making music. I was living in Washington D.C with other music creators who inspired me to keep going and trusted my visions and sounds. They allowed me to have access to the tools I needed to start my music journey and taking it more serious. I eventually moved to LA to be surrounded by more creative artists, and like minded people. I would get inspiration left and right!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a pretty crazy road I had to get past to be able to be where I am now. I went from having trouble expressing myself in my mother’s home, to living alone at 18, paying renting right out of high school. Moved to the city alone, seeking for a community of creators. Eventually moving to LA I still had to adjust to a new environment and pace. While also making sure I make time to create. But through it all I found a new way to get grounded and stable
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make dark emotion filled paintings, with acrylic on canvas, expressing my inner soul feelings of love experiences I’ve been through.
I make music under the name of “immortal rockstar” with sounds that can range from scream-rap to hyperpop genres. I’m most proud of the shows I’ve thrown in Los Angeles alone, gaining up to 200 plus people from all over the states coming to support and to be apart of the community I created here. I was able to bring a lot of people together with similar music taste and fashion styles! I was able to see something that started so small in a place I was brand new and unfamiliar with, grow into something beautiful.
I believe my visuals with my clothes, photos, sounds, and art help express a side of me not many would understand but can see my personality through my creations.
