Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Smith.
Leah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always believed creativity isn’t something you do, it’s something you live. After years of working (in a variety of careers) I focused on marketing and storytelling, and realized that the most powerful brands weren’t just selling products or services… they were creating feelings. That’s when I founded The Creative Cabana, a boutique marketing agency rooted in nostalgia, storytelling, and style.
The Cabana was born from my belief that marketing should feel like an experience… effortless, memorable, and full of heart. Our tagline, “Marketing, but a Lifestyle,” captures everything we stand for: strategic creativity wrapped in sunshine, connection, and a little martini-glass fun.
Today, I work with a curated roster of clients who want their brand to feel as good as it looks and I’m building a larger Cabana world through education, community connection, digital products, and storytelling that inspires others to create from joy.
At its core, The Creative Cabana is my love letter to creativity, a reminder that success doesn’t have to feel sterile or stressful. It can feel like poolside confidence, laughter, and the kind of magic that lingers long after you’ve left.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, definitely not! Like most creative journeys, it’s been a mix of clarity, chaos, and caffeine. Scaling a boutique business while staying true to the heart of it has been one of my biggest challenges. When you’re creative, your instinct is to say “yes” to every good idea, but building something sustainable means learning to focus on the right ideas.
Finding balance between growth and alignment took time. I had to learn that scaling doesn’t just mean bigger… it means better, clearer, and more intentional. It’s about creating space to dream while also putting systems in place that protect your energy.
But every challenge has refined my vision for The Creative Cabana. I’ve learned to trust my pace, honor the seasons of business, and remember that the goal isn’t just to grow, it’s to glow.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At The Creative Cabana, I help brands tell their stories through nostalgia-driven marketing that blends strategy, storytelling, and design to create work that doesn’t just sell but stirs something.
Our philosophy is simple: marketing should feel like a lifestyle. Every detail … from the words to the visuals to the tone … reflects how a brand wants people to feel. When marketing is done right, it isn’t a checklist item; it’s an experience that lingers like good music or sunshine after a long winter.
From content campaigns and newsletters to brand storytelling and creative coaching, everything we produce carries that unmistakable Cabana energy: strategic creativity wrapped in warmth, nostalgia, and effortless style.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just build marketing plans. I build worlds. My clients come for more than content, they come for connection, clarity, and that spark that turns strategy into something unforgettable.
What’s next?
I’m excited to take on more clients and add additional talent to our growing team. I’m also extremely proud that The Creative Cabana has grown beyond a boutique agency into a creative lifestyle brand.
Our next chapter focuses on education, community connection, and curated experiences — think “Martinis & Margins” our book club, an Amazon Cabana Collective storefront, Cabana retreats for creatives (The Breakers anyone? Or shall we start with Palm Springs?), immersive storytelling workshops, and inspiring spaces where strategy and creativity sip side by side (hopefully by a pool). Because success can feel like confidence, connection, joy, and living beautifully.
A weekly assignment here in the Cabana, is to jot down the dreams, the goals, the audacious thoughts and to road map it out! If we aren’t thinking big then how can our brands be HUGE?
Pricing:
- We have our Cabana Social Packages plus add ons for Socials, Branding, E-Marketing and Affiliate Marketing. But we typically create custom packages for each approved client bc no brand is the same, nor should it be.
