Conversations with King Aiden

Today we’d like to introduce you to King Aiden.

King Aiden

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started this music journey in hip-hop two years ago. I started writing my own songs, which I never could write a song to save my life. One day it just all clicked after hours and hours of practicing! I am now working on my second published album as an artist and it will include 14 original songs and sounds from one of my producers, Nowey, that makes music over in the UK. I’ve been doing really exciting things like music videos and live shows recently as things start to pick up!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working on this album has not been a smooth journey nor has my career. I am a transgender, black hip-hop artist. I definitely stand out but that is not always good. I am a target with the position I am in for online turfs and bullies. I know drama comes with the career but with being who I am, I have to be very careful in this music industry because not all people agree with who I am as a man.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is pure and honest. I come from a background of musicians as well. I play 7 different instruments and am very involved in all parts of my career. When I make an album, I’m sure that sets me apart because I haven’t seen many rappers able to write all their songs plus play all the instruments in it. I’d say I’m most proud of that and the hard work and long hours I have put in!

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was actually an Alaskan cruise I went on as a kid. That was wild! I got to see a lot of things that I’m not usually around
