Conversations with Jasmin Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmin Williams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started? 
I’ve been around Photography for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, my dad always was the one in the family with a camera taking pictures of everything and everyone. As I got older, my uncle was a photographer as well and would always teach me everything about photography. 

I started taking pictures when I was in high school as a hobby. Throughout the years, close friends knew I did photography and always asked me to shoot their events, model shots, engagements, etc. That is when I decided I wanted to turn this into a career because it is something I truly love to do. That is where Jayynicoleproductions was born. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Creating a business is never easy. I learned it is all about consistency. When I first started, I took a deep dive into getting everything set up for the company because I was so excited. I put myself out there and wasn’t getting as much clientele as I thought I would, and it became discouraging to me. So, I stopped for about a year or so because I thought I wasn’t good enough. 

A year later, I started back up and got into fashion photography and taking pictures for upcoming clothing businesses or upcoming models. I ended up getting pregnant with my son and I took a break again. 

Being a photographer in Orange County and Los Angeles is a very saturated business. But once I realized that every photographer is different and has their own way of shooting, there’s no reason to become discouraged. I continued to strive in my own way and do what I love to do. 

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in family photos and fashion photography in Orange County and Los Angeles. I’m also a traveling nature photographer. 

What I’m most proud of is staying consistent with my work and not letting the outside influence discourage me in any way: 

What sets me apart from other photographers is I am willing to shoot any type of work and always willing to learn.
