Conversations with Forsyth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Forsyth.

Hi Forsyth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, my family was constantly moving around to different cities and states. There was no particular reason for all this moving (not a military family) but that’s just the way it played out – I was the “new kid” for five years in a row ranging from 5th – 9th grade. The reason I set the context as such is because I attribute my start in music to those formative years. We can all relate to being in a new environment and how lonely it can be at times. However, in that loneliness and on the fringes of unfamiliar social circles is where the music I am making present day came to life.

I recorded my first song in my attic circa 2006 on a plastic microphone; the song and my artistic ability was terrible but I was not deterred. I kept honing my craft over the years until finally in college, I released a series of songs to the public. The feedback was mixed but I continued nonetheless.

Fast forward to 2018. I had a lucky break when a close friend of mine heard a song I was working on. He was blown away by how good it sounded and asked me… “why don’t you do this full-time?!?”. My reply was that it was somewhat expensive if I wanted to really do it correctly and work with a trained audio engineer in a real studio. He wrote me a check to record an album that night and I was on my way!

Fast forward to 2022. I have wracked up 4+ million streams globally, recorded songs with Dave East, Jadakiss & more, and performed at notable venues like Soho House. In 2023 I plan to release my 4th album titled ‘Stars Eye View’ as well.

Looking back on the journey, I am proud to have turned my passion into something real and impactful and although I have come a long way….I truly feel like I’m just getting started!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road – I release personal thoughts and feelings to the public through the filter of my creative vision. I have put money, time and emotion into my craft over the years. I have had successes and failures, highs and lows. All this being said, I never expected the journey to be easy or quick but in a way that’s what makes it exciting!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hip hop artist, singer and songwriter. I specialize in writing colorful and thought-provoking lyrics backed with unique/varying production styles.

I am most proud of the growth I have seen in myself over the years. I have improved so much as it pertains to my skill set and I intend to continue down the path I am on.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to produce high-level content consistently. I also believe in my strategy to grow my music/brand and have become extremely knowledgeable in the music space’s inner-workings.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to release my 4th studio album called ‘Stars Eye View’. This project is something I have been building up to since I started my music journey. It’s going to be the best material I have released to date. It’s going to feature artists and producers from around the world. It’s going to display my artistic depth, variety and vision in every way. I am really excited and working diligently present day to pull it all together.
