Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Brown.
Hi Eric, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m originally from Baltimore, MD. I started the brand as a blog there that focused on menswear and style. That eventually evolved into what it is today. Still with the same values but now based in LA. We ship internationally and is continuously growing with various products that fit into our minimal vibe.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not the smoothest road. The brand relocated to LA in March of 2020. Which we all know was some of the wildest times to witness. But somehow, that consistency of not giving up and staying the course led me to still be here today.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m the creative director for the brand. I’ve worn all hats from photography, styling (my favorite), designing, modeling, and more. Now with a small dedicated team, my favorite role is most definitely behind the camera.
The most I’m proud of is staying true to who I am. I started styling over a decade ago, and I still use those strengths every day in business. With a market that is sort of saturated, the best thing to be is yourself. If you’re being authentic, no matter the field you’re in it’ll work.
Oh yeah, and not giving up. I know it easier said than done… but this is a marathon not a race, right?
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Networking is vital. The team I have was built off of it. Nothing else.
Plus, we’ve been at various pop-up events throughout the city which is very valuable because it allows customers to get an in-person shopping experience.
Also taking risks. I know it’s scary for most, but that’s a strength for me. I’ll always try to venture with something if I can make it make sense.
