Conversations with Elizabeth Gerald

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Gerald.

Hi Elizabeth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Elizabeth Gerald, the founder/president of MJGMOVEMENT, a 5013c not for profit, i started it in November of 2015, after loosing my amazing daughter marcie Gerald. Loosing a child is one of the hardest things a parent can go through. Either you sit back, and spiral down, end up, with different illnesses, sick all the time, ect.or get up,and figure out how to honor your child’s legacy. So we don’t suicide prevention, we help sexual assault victims, domestic violence victims, gun violence victims, we feed homeless families, we have helped pay for headstones, we pass our turkeys and side for Thanksgiving, we give out toy’s, coats, hats, gloves, food boxes, gift cards, for children, last year, we helped over 7000 families, it made fox new. We do alot to help.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes there were, struggles, mjgmovement, is a 5013c organization, in the beginning, it was hard, telling my daughter story, speaking, about suicide, sexual violence, mental health, are stigmas, and people, didn’t understand how i could, speak, about these subjects.. but it got easier, every year, and now,it’s more accepted, especially in the black and Brown community’s. Mjgmovement,,and my daughter story is known all over the world, not just the, us,and that is such a huge accomplishment.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
