Today we’d like to introduce you to Daz it Daz All.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Daz it Daz All is an opinion-based podcast through the lens of Black Women while simultaneously highlighting Black Artists. Created by KC Carnage.
This podcast has been an idea in the making for several years, however January 2023 while I was going over my recap of 2022 and setting goals and intentions of 2023, I looked up at my degree from Bowie State University, where I studied Broadcast Journalism. I said, “I need to start using you!” Lol
Ironically enough, about two weeks later I had a meeting with Rick Barrio Dill of Vintage trouble. Alongside with his wife Anjali Bhimani, who was creating a Label SLAP the Network (Sonic. Love. Action. Power) for podcasters. I pitched him my show based on the idea that I felt African American Women were overlooked, undervalued, and truly unseen here in Los Angeles specifically. This was based on my own experiences and many other Bipoc Women in different environments I had been around in almost my decade of living in LA, and to be frank, in the world, we hear the stories every day. And if there was something I knew for sure that I could speak about, it was being a Black Woman in America lol, and as a performing artist myself, I also felt the need to share my platform with thriving black artists as well! That’s how DAz it Daz All was created!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Well the team at SLAP have been amazing, they have been truly supportive of my vision and really haven’t tried to deter me in anyway. My Producer Bri Coorey and I have spent many hours knocking out episodes, being super meticulous about how they get shown to the world, which is a challenge sometimes in itself. However, with creating any new project or idea, there are challenges. If I had to pick one that stands out, it would have to be when we were creating the logo lol it was very important to create something that represented women that looked like me but also be relatable to All women. We went back and forth for weeks for a tiny thumbnail, lol. I remember literally sending a picture of myself to resemble fuller lips and higher cheekbones for the face. Lol
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I spent most of my career as a musician. I have been seen singing in some of the most iconic venues here in Los Angeles. I have toured nationally and internationally. I’m known for getting shit done lol whether it’s producing a show, an event, or helping others bring their visions into reality. I’m. Most Proud of Daz it Daz All because it’s the first time that I have had full creative control to execute my vision in its highest form. I believe what sets me apart is my true ability to connect with anyone and actually see them and truly want to see everyone win!
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Just do it! Do it now! Don’t let fears, doubts, or the naysayers get in your head about what you feel in your heart. Your vision is yours for a reason; it was bestowed to you for a reason, so act on it! Yes, you may get knocked down a few times, but all those are; are lessons to learn and grow from to make you stronger and more equipped to push even harder.
