Conversations with D-Win

Today we’d like to introduce you to D-Win

Hi D-Win, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up, I attended New Day Pentecostal church in Indianapolis, IN. Church was a big part of my life, with me spending about three to four days per week in service. On Wednesdays, I would even accompany my grandmother to pray band. My interest in music led me to sit with the musicians, and eventually led me to learn how to play.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been very thing but smooth. Some of the challenges along the way was losing a ton of family members, not having all the resources to become a creative, and having to do everything alone.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As an accomplished rapper and clothing designer, I have a unique perspective as an overall creative. My achievements include performing on national television at BET Gospel Superfest during the holiday season. Despite starting with less resources, I have consistently outworked those who have more than me, setting me apart from the rest.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
The decision to move back to Los Angeles was a risky one, as I had established a comfortable life in Indianapolis. However, I wanted to challenge myself and seek more out of life. Ultimately, this move proved to be the best decision I ever made, leading to my recent success. In fact, I credit my leap of faith for sparking the ideas for my brand “Winfield” upon my arrival in LA. Trust in the process and take risks with faith in God.
