Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Igwemadu.
Hi Caleb, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I want to start by saying a big thank you to Voyage LA for this great opportunity, I’m Igwemadu Caleb onyegaemeriechi, also known by my stage name Lil Splendor. I’m a music producer, Music artist and CEO of Splendor Music Worldwide Records.
Splendor Music Worldwide Records is a music record label founded by Igwemadu Caleb Onyegaemeriechi, we offer music production services, artist management and music distribution services.
It was launched on the 23rd of December 2018. Before the launch, Splendor Music Worldwide Records started as just a home studio working with a couple of artists around the world and that was when the thought of growing the network hit me.
In 2019 we rented a studio apartment and with time we saw lots of progress coming in which led to a bigger growth. I have worked with a lot of artists around the world.
We can boost of a lot of employees and steady money coming in. Music is something that heals the soul and we are here to give you the best of it.
So I give thanks to God for the growth and if you an entrepreneur thinking of starting a business and you’re still scared about loss, think about the 1% possibility that it could be a successful project and what you stand to gain. Bury the doubts and just do it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. There’s actually a lot involved in the music business, at times just talent doesn’t do the job. We’ve learnt not to just manage any artist because he/she got talent; you need to be morally well trained, ready to listen and cooperate.
Some artist comes in and sometimes doesn’t even go through the agreements before signing it and with time, a lot of issues arises.
There’s actually alot to consider before starting a record label and a lot of capital is involved.
My greatest struggle while starting up was funds, networking, marketing strategy and doubts. With big dreams come sacrifices.
