Conversations with Aurora Garcia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aurora Garcia

Hi Aurora, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In September of 2022, for. a family event we created some desserts that all of our family and friends raved about enjoying. We decided to start selling them online, we started having great reviews and sales on them. In December of 2022, we built a coffee cart (self serve) to rent for events, which led to the creative thought of building other carts in the future. Before summer of 2023, we thought it was a good idea to have a dessert cart for California’s summer heat; we thought a shaved ice cart was the. best idea. We wanted something appealing and different, that’s how the Hawaiian style came along. We caught many customer’s attention, that is when we decided to create the third cart. The third one can be used for different options, such as churro sundaes, mini pancakes, and funnel cakes. We started to get booked for many events that we started hiring our family to help out and added a fourth cart; we added the choice of having coffee with baristas included. We got booked for a wedding at WedgeWood University Club, where the manager liked our services and invited us back to their expo weddings. We always add a small token to correlate with the events theme. Now we are catering at around 6 events per weekend. What makes us different from other small businesses is that we never say no, we always find a way to fulfill our customers needs.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, when we started the business there was only a budget of $100 and for several months all earnings were invested in the business with no income. A lot of times we thought of abandoning the idea of growing the business but when received another inquiry, we were eager to keep going.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Jessica- I am an accountant and I am a full time employee. I enjoy having my weekends super busy with the business. I have experience in how to manage a business, especially with finances.
Aurora- I am a full time stay at home mom. I like doing the fine details of the desserts and I am the creative side of the business. I love to cook and I’m not afraid to try new things.
We are most proud of how fast our business grew, how many great reviews and returning customers we have. What sets us parts is that we always customize our cart to the theme of the events, and our customer service.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is that we have a great support system, and that we can always rely on one another.
