Conversations with Angel Farias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Farias

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
From Costa Mesa to the World of Fashion: My Modeling Journey

I was born and raised in Costa Mesa, California, until the age of 7 when my life took a transformative turn. My mother, a passionate entrepreneur with dreams of opening her own clothing store, decided to move our family to Mexico, her home country, to make her vision a reality. Being Mexican myself, this transition exposed me to a different culture and lifestyle, but it was also the start of my deep connection to fashion.

Growing up, I was always drawn to the artistic side of life, particularly fashion. My mother’s dedication to her business sparked something in me. Watching her create something from the ground up inspired me to dream big, and fashion slowly became a huge part of my world. I’ve always believed that fashion, much like art, tells a story. It’s not just about clothes; it’s about how someone can showcase their personality and creativity through a photograph, a pose, or a piece of fabric.

At 16, I returned to the United States, and my passion for fashion began to take shape in a new way. By the time I was 18, I found myself diving into social media, where I began sharing my photos and creative ideas with a growing audience. This platform allowed me to connect with like-minded people and showcase my love for fashion and modeling.

Almost at the age of 19, I decided to take a bold step and applied to a modeling agency. That decision changed everything. Since then, I’ve been pursuing my modeling career full-time, and every day feels like a new opportunity to grow, dream, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. My story is still unfolding, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While my journey into the modeling world has been incredibly rewarding, it hasn’t been without its hardships. One of the most difficult parts was leaving Mexico, the country I had grown so attached to, and starting a new life back in the United States. That transition was tough, but so was the personal battle I faced with body image. Growing up, I struggled with eating disorders and body dysmorphia, which deeply affected my self-confidence. I constantly questioned whether I was enough for the modeling industry, often feeling like I didn’t measure up to its standards. Overcoming those internal battles has been just as important as any external achievement, and it’s an ongoing process of believing in myself and my potential.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a fashion model specializing in runway, print, and commercial work, having collaborated with top brands like Viktor & Rolf, Burberry, and Zara. I’ve also been featured in magazines such as Artells and the French magazine Malvie. What sets me apart is my strong presence on social media, particularly Instagram, where I bring my passion for modeling to life. I love sharing not only my modeling work but also my creative fashion style, offering outfit inspiration and fashion tips through posts and reels. I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to merge my love for fashion with my online presence, connecting with my audience in a way that feels authentic and true to my style. Being able to showcase my art form through different platforms is something I take great pride in, and I’m always pushing myself to be creative and expressive, both in front of the camera and behind it.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a very extroverted and charismatic kid. I was always outgoing and loved being around people, constantly looking out for others, especially since I’m the oldest of three siblings. That protective nature shaped a lot of who I am today. I’ve always been kind and empathetic, worrying about how those around me felt. At school, I was always present, maintaining good grades while balancing my interests in art and fashion. From a young age, fashion and creativity were a huge part of my life. I was drawn to the artistic side of things and loved how art, whether in the form of drawings or clothing, could tell a story. It’s that passion for self-expression that eventually led me to the modeling industry.
