Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisa Jordan.
Hi Alisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started modeling when I was about 5 years old, my mom was just beginning to work in photography then and I was pretty much her muse. Any ideas or creative themes she had for photoshoots she used me as her model. She realized how much I enjoyed being in front of the camera and modeling in general and from then it’s been something I’m really passionate about. Today modeling is one of my main focuses, it feels natural to me and allows me to express myself. I’ve taken a liking to runway modeling especially which is something I’ve been working on more recently.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It had been a pretty smooth road though the only struggle that I’ve had along the way is being hard on myself. I’m a perfectionist and I always feel like I have to be or do something perfect the first time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I’m a freelance model interested in being signed in the future. I primary do photoshoots that are print or commercial style which is what I feel like I’m known for but more recently I have been doing more fashion shows. I most proud of my progress that has been made within my modeling career. It’s something that I’ve been working hard on and see myself flourishing in. Something that sets me apart from others is my creativity. I’ve always been very creative and took interest in drawing, painting, sewing, etc. I wanna be able to use these talents to expand and broaden my horizons. Along with modeling I see myself getting into creative directing and wardrobe styling soon as well, as it could provide additional creative outlets and opportunities for myself.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel like a quality or characteristic that is most important to my success is determination. It can be easy to get discouraged especially without a lot of support. I often don’t see many models that come from Cleveland, I want to be one of the firsts, so remaining determined and having that drive and passion to reach my goals is key because I aspire to be very successful in modeling.
