Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexa Ortega.

Alexa Ortega

Hi Alexa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in the Philippines and moved to America with my mom when I was 15. I was a professional actress in the Philippines and got cast in my first national tv commercial when I was five years old. I also did professional theater and was a TV host for Nickelodeon Asia by the time I was 13 years old. When I moved to America, I decided to pursue my degree in Psychology. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and learned a lot about human psychology. I moved to LA when I was 27 years old because my dreams of acting haunted me when I didn’t pursue them. I’ve been living in LA, and I’ve booked multiple tv commercials as a leading lady. Though I love to act, perhaps one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done is train to be a facilitator for a leadership company called Klemmer. The tools I have gained in this work has transformed my life and my relationships, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. This training has shaped me into the woman I am today… which allowed me to attract my person, my husband, Daniel Kuhlman, who I just married a few days ago.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! I grew up apart from my siblings and my dad who were in the Philippines. Saying goodbye to my family and friends and everything I knew at 15 was challenging. Brian Klemmer said, “Nothing great becomes great without overcoming great resistance”. Another challenge I experienced was losing a man I loved to a motorcycle accident when I was 21. His name was Nick. He was full of life, and I’ll never forget when he looked at me with his beautiful green eyes and said, “I can’t wait for my life to begin”. He passed away that same evening. Though it was one of the most challenging times in my 20s, Nick inspired me to live life to the fullest, to take risks, and to love fiercely. Yes, I’ve overcome many challenges, and because of the people surrounding me, I’ve been able to pick myself back up every single time. Fall down seven times. Get back 8 is my motto.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an actress, a soon-to-be facilitator, and I own my own personal training business. I’m most proud of my tenacity, my ability to communicate directly and honestly. I love people. I am an encourager- I love to speak life into people and remind them that they matter. I love well, fiercely, and deeply.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Take big risks, give it your all, have many different side hustles, and believe in yourself. Life is short. Be real and do what you love. The person you become as you go for your dreams… makes the whole process worth it.
