Conversations with Nia Witts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nia Witts.

Hi Nia, maybe you can briefly introduce yourself and tell us a bit about how you got to where you are today, where it all started, etc.
How it started…as a seven years old tap dancer. How it’s going… I am a working actress, comedian, producer, host, and content creator.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Like everyone, my journey has had bumps, turns, and failures. There were lots of times when I quit because things didn’t turn out the way I wanted. There were times I felt I was so close only to have doors shut in my face. Like most artists, have heard no more times than yes. But always remember your purpose and the belief you have in yourself and your dreams and keep going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a working actress, comedian, dancer, producer, director, host and content creator. I am proud of all of these hats because at first, I was only an actress but being in this business, I have grown to wear many hats which is how I grew as an artist, creative, and person. I am most proud of my show Can We Talk About on my YouTube channel. Creating and executing that show was the first time I took a chance on myself. Can We Talk About is a fun show where a guest and I talk about any and everything. It is such a fun show and it is so fun to shoot! I am also excited about the amazing new content I am creating on my YouTube. I love that I am able to express myself and be the actress and comedian that I am, not who the industry thinks I am. I am super corky, silly, and goofy. My YouTube gives me that platform to show that and connect with others with the same silly sense of humor as me.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love my city! I love that anything I want and desire is just a drive away. If I want to go to the beach, it’s west. If I want to go to the mountains, it’s north. If I want to go to the desert, it is east. If I want to see my mom, she’s south. Everything I want is right here!
