Hi, I’m Vanessa, the proud founder of LevelUp Bookkeeping LLC. With over 20 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and property management, I’ve learned that behind every business is a passionate person who just wants to focus on what they love without getting buried in numbers. That’s where I come in. My journey started at 16 years old when I got my first job at a tax office. By 17, I was already handling all the finances for my parent’s church and learning QuickBooks, which became the foundation of my career. From there, I spent over a decade at a payroll company assisting CPAs and business owners navigating payroll and tax resolution, and another 14 years managing accounting and operations for a property management company. These experiences gave me both technical expertise and an inside look at the struggles business owners face every day.
Along the way, I’ve had mentors who guided me and encouraged me to step into entrepreneurship with confidence, but the real turning point came when I moved to the South Bay. By then, my son was grown, married, and I had become a grandmother. With this new chapter in my life, I knew it was finally time to pursue my own dream. Surrounded by an incredible community of strong businesswomen, I stepped fully into entrepreneurship. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business and a certificate in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship all while building a vision that reflected both my passion for numbers and my commitment to supporting business owners and their success.
Through it all, I discovered what truly lights me up: uplifting people and working with numbers. I saw firsthand how many businesses struggled with their bookkeeping, and I naturally found myself stepping in to offer clarity and provide solutions. That’s when LevelUp Bookkeeping LLC was born, a business built on the belief that no entrepreneur should carry the stress of finances alone.
“Life is full of opportunities and challenges and so is running a business. The good news? You don’t have to navigate it alone.” Beyond the numbers, my goal has always been to remove financial overwhelm so business owners can focus on growth and creativity. I love seeing people succeed, and there’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone feel confident and in control of their business finances. This is more than bookkeeping to me, it’s my way of ensuring people feel confident and equipped, and that is truly where my heart is. I’ve seen firsthand how strong bookkeeping can turn challenges into opportunities and open the door for growth. My passion doesn’t stop here, I am eager to support other small business owners to experience the same freedom, clarity, and confidence in their finances so they can focus on what they do best: growing their business and serving their clients.
I care deeply for people and their businesses. I don’t want anyone to lose sleep or jeopardize their health because of financial stress. My mission is simple: to balance your books and empower your business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all, it’s been a journey filled with challenges. Being a single mom while working and building a career wasn’t always easy. There were times of struggle and sacrifice. But I held on to faith, hard work, and the hope of building a better future. Now, seeing my son married and becoming a grandmother, I want to leave a legacy for my family. I want my story to encourage others to never give up. The road may not always be smooth, but the destination is worth it.
