Community Highlights: Meet Sharieff Muhammad of On Point GoalDiggers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharieff Muhammad.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Started off as an athlete with a goal to play in the NFL. On Point was a brand I started really putting some thought into around 2011 but because of my love for sports, I never took it seriously.

I played football at SMC JUCO & started gaining recognition from a few D1 schools and many D2 schools. Because of my athletic background, I started On Point Training as On Point developed from just a clothing brand to an overall brand. I was training hard everyday and making my certain sacrifices and set to transfer to Azusa Pacific which is a D2 school in Cali. April 2018, I got into a bad car accident that left me hospitalized with a pneumothorax(aka a collapsed lung). I then had to receive surgery which led to me not being able to train or continue my football aspirations for the time being. Being sidelined and not active, I started thinking about the clothing side of my brand. Nip transitioned almost a month apart from my accident & that thought led me to getting the brand in motion because Nipsey was the one person I wanted to present my brand to and collab with. Now I’m one year in and excited for this marathon.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not the smoothest of roads. I can name a few of the struggles for me like finding different marketing techniques and getting my brand in front of the right audience and finding consistent manufacturers with great material at an affordable cost. This is a business where you sometimes have to lose money to make money so figuring out how to maneuver around that can get pretty tricky.

It also gets challenging working by yourself for the most part and sometimes you have your days where you feel like you’re not receiving any support. Staying levelheaded and sticking to the script and blocking out all the negativity whether it’s from others or from self talk has been a challenge but on the bright side it has made me stronger. At the end of the day, all these challenges lead to great lessons and growth so I’m glad it’s not a smooth road. All roads aren’t smooth but as long as you’re On Point with your actions you’ll get through.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
On Point is a motivational streetwear brand which specializes in bringing fly motivating clothing. In life, you can’t be perfect because of the constant changes but you can always be On Point as long as you’re striving to be successful at whatever your goal is. At On Point, we are known to never quit and we represent all the people who have dreams to be successful but face many obstacles along the way, all the people who never quit who never took no for an answer & all the people who kept going despite the negativity they faced. Our Brand represents the strive for success, the desire to be an inspiration to others, & perseverance. We provide you with fly motivational pieces of clothing to let you know that at the end of the day, it’s On Point or No Point at All.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Excited to share more great pieces of clothing with the city and eventually the world. My goal is to get as many people as possible to become On Point Goaldiggers. I know a lot of people know how it feels to not be motivated so I’d like to motivate as many people as possible and keep them fly while doing so. When you’re striving to achieve your goals, it’s On Point or No Point at All.
