Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha And Alexandra Cooper
Samantha and Alexandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We are sisters and best friends. We have always been obsessed with everything non toxic and clean. Our husbands think we are crazy when it comes to our clean skin care game. We have taken away their Charmin ultra soft toilet paper, thrown out their shampoo bottles and body wash and we spend hours researching every ingredient on the back of labels. Samantha has two teenagers at home. Alexandra has a newborn. When pregnant, Alexandra was shocked at how many products were touted as safe when in fact they were harmful. She literally spent hours trying to find a non toxic bottle not made in China. Samantha constantly battles her teenage daughter who wants to buy the makeup she sees on tik tok.
It was after Samantha’s third friend being diagnosed with cancer that Samantha came to an Epiphany- We have to share our hard work and research with others. We have to simplify the clean skin care game. That’s how Purely Clean Wellness came into being. We made it our mission to make sure your skin, hair and your home are free of toxins. We wanted to create one simple place to buy everything for your household that met our incredibly high standards of being non-toxic.
The beauty of our bond for our customers is we are both in different life stages. Samantha is navigating a life with teenagers. Alexandra has a newborn. Collectively, we reach a broad audience.
The irony in our business model is before we started. Alex was barely on social media and never liked it and Samantha didn’t even have an account nor did she know how to use it. Boy was there a learning curve! Our initial thought was trying to sell products like we were marketing executives for companies. With Alexandra‘s background of being a professional photographer, we set up every shot so it was just perfect. But we soon realized that showing our love for products was more about having fun and being real.
We are approaching our sixth month and we have 6500 followers. Hopefully by the time you read this article, we will have more!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely been bumpy. There is no roadmap for pushing your products on Amazon. In fact it’s confusing as heck. And don’t call customer service! We’ve done that about 30 times and I think they might be more confused than us.
Even though we sold products relatively quickly, they deactivated our account at some point for a technicality we didn’t understand and even they couldn’t explain. We ended up having to re-enter every URL for each product website yet again.
Take two was the success. Finally achieving our Amazon store has made life a lot easier. We are able to direct people to our favorite products in one simple spot.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are sisters on a non toxic journey to clean up your skin, health, and home care.
What set us apart from others as we are known to be very selective and we only suggest products that we use and truly love.
No one wants to use a non-toxic beauty product that doesn’t work and doesn’t meet a high standard. we also stay on top of all of the brands so that if they happen to get bought out, we make sure they don’t change their formulations and add toxins back in. Which is what sadly happened to Native.
Beyond products we also love to give advice, cleaning hacks and health recipes. We truly are a one stop shop for people that want to transform their health and feel amazing.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Our Mom is a documentary film maker so triumphing for change has always been innate for us. Our father was an OBGYN who would often deliver babies for free. Gratitude was always a major theme in our family. The gift of having a baby sister as a 12 year old was immeasurable. Samantha took part in everything from changing diapers to pre-school drop offs. She became a second Mom to Alexandra. That dynamic changed as Alexandra grew up and we became inseparable best friends.
Our free time is often spent volunteering. Alexandra is known to drive 1,000,000 miles to rescue any stray dog. She actually rescued a pig when her daughter was 3 months old. Samantha is always volunteering at school or for other charities for the underprivileged in LA.
We love helping people which is how Purely Clean Wellness came to life. With all the companies out there that are not transparent about their ingredients, or are, and then later become greenwashed, we wanted to simplify the clean game. We are all about teaching people through our instagram and we try to make it fun. Our goal is to become the go to girls when it comes to reducing your daily toxins. We realized how many harmful chemicals we are unknowingly exposed to and knew we had to make a change-not just for ourselves, but for others too. We hope you will join us!
