Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronen Hirsch.
Hi Ronen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
To keep it short, I was born in Detroit, Michigan, grew up in San Jose, CA, lived for 20 years in Israel (minus 3 years while living in Holland), and now living in LA for about 8 years so far and really love it here. I’ve been running my own Web design & development business for about 17 years now, called Studio Umbrella (https://www.studioumbrella.com). We specialize in creating custom websites, both e-commerce and “standard” for a variety of industries. For the past 10 years, we’ve been focused on Shopify and have worked on numerous projects, both from scratch and site upkeep and maintenance.
Recently, we just launched another site, https://qwiqode.com that sells pre-built Shopify sections to web designers and store merchants so that they can easily add content templates to their site because Shopify themes can be limiting at times with the sections that they provide. This way, templates can be added without the need to spend extra time and money on web developers.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road being self-employed and running a business. There are times when there is too much work to handle with not enough help and then times when there isn’t enough work It’s a balancing act between making an honest income and keeping yourself sane!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
So there are two businesses that I currently run. I’ve been running Studio Umbrella, a web design & development business for about 17 years now. The sections are highly flexible with a large amount of styling options to match the look and feel of the website and are easily installed with just a little copy/pasting needed. We have numerous sections available to download, including a free Text Block section in order to give our product a test run with no risk.
In both businesses, we aim to give our clients/customers a high-quality product that will serve them and their website in the best way possible, thus highlighting their brand in the best way possible and increasing their leads and sales.
We are very proud of every project that we complete and strive to be the best provider of service in the field. We are small and like to keep things personal and friendly while achieving results and exceeding expectations.
