Nicole, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I transitioned from managing a marijuana dispensary to starting a lash extension career by recognizing a passion for beauty and a desire for a more stable, hands on, & creative profession. I first took an in person lash certification course in Dec 2017, and enrolled in Esthetician school in Feb 2018. While still working week nights, I’d wake up early mornings to finish 600 hrs of school spread among 6months. Although I did not start my home base lash career until August of 2020, the moment I made the decision to go all in with lashing, I never looked back.
With my background in dispensary management, I already had experience in customer service, business operations, and compliance, which helped me navigate the beauty industry. I started by practicing on friends and family, building a portfolio, and leveraging my existing network and social media to attract clients.
Eventually, I started lashing 1-2 people a day while doing giveaways and promos to attract a more steady clientele. All while saving money to invest in quality products, branding, and marketing. Once I gained confidence and built a steady client base after 2 yrs, i transitioned into lashing full-time. After 3 yrs, i was able to get a studio and my books were full. Fast forward to year 4-5, I started working on my product line and I am still working on my overall improvement of my lash career.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My lash career has not been easy at all to say the least…. But starting something new is never going to be easy! I still remember those early months like it was yesterday, I had quit my full time position at the dispensary just when the lockdown happened during covid. I no longer had a stable daily cash flow coming in and that was really tough. Because when you are a beginner beauty professional, working to gain clients and perfecting your craft at the same time is so stressful… all while wondering how you’re going to cover rent and bills. Servicing certain clients is sometimes frustrating as well, but just like every job, there are pros and cons and you just have to choose your hard and ask yourself if it’s worth it.

I am a Lash Artist and product supplier based in Los Angeles, CA. I have been servicing for 5 years now, and I specialize in wispy volume lash looks! I am also known for full and dramatic mega textured lash sets for all the girlies that love a bold look!
The main thing that sets me apart is the style of lashes I provide, which varies from light & airy, or textured & full, I am a very versatile lash artist. With a couple years of experience, I have created my own specific style and wispy is definitely my niche. Not only am I serving amazing lash sets, my retention also surpasses 3-5weeks!
On top of making others feel beautiful in their own skin, I also have a lash product line! My ultimate goal with coming out with lash supplies is the need to help my fellow lash artists create beautiful sets and have the best retention without emptying their pockets. Although my supplies are affordable, it is still delivering top tier results.
I am very proud of my brand because everything was created out of love, faith and perseverance. My product line was very intentional, from the color selections to naming each item, every product design was all thought out from me.
Here at Lash Plug LA, I strive to give my clients a luxurious experience and treat each person like a VIP guest. Providing a clean and relaxing environment inside a private studio, while also offering refreshments and snacks after every appointment! Each client can expect to fall asleep in my ultra comfortable recliner chair and wake up to a new level of confidence!

The lash industry and any business journey, comes with ups and downs, but success is built on consistency, resilience, and belief in yourself. There will be slow days, difficult clients, and moments of doubt, but every challenge is a stepping stone toward your growth.

Building anything from the ground up takes time, but showing up every day, providing quality service, and treating each client like your best client will set you apart. Word of mouth, social media, and genuine connections will build your reputation over time.
