Today we’d like to introduce you to Leor Ram.
Hi Leor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Integrative Psychotherapy Group (IPG) began with a vision that was both personal and professional: to create a practice where the complexity of the human experience could be met with a diversity of expertise, compassion, and evidence-based care. What started as a solo practice in Beverly Hills quickly grew into something larger, as the demand for integrative, high-quality therapy became increasingly evident. Clients weren’t just looking for a therapist—they were looking for a place where their whole self could be seen, where they could choose from a range of modalities and clinicians, and where healing didn’t have to happen in isolation.
An essential part of IPG’s foundation is our commitment to LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy. Many of us know firsthand the importance of being supported by clinicians who not only understand but also affirm and celebrate diverse identities and experiences. This focus is not just a specialty—it is part of our DNA as a practice. In addition to offering affirming individual and couples therapy, IPG proudly facilitates two Gay Men’s Groups, which have become a cornerstone of our group therapy offerings. These groups provide a rare and deeply meaningful space for men in the community to connect, process, and grow together under the guidance of Certified Group Therapists.
From that vision, IPG expanded into a group practice that now serves clients across California, New York, and Florida, both in-person and through telehealth. Each chapter of our growth has been driven by the same philosophy: mental health care should be personalized, accessible, and rooted in integrity. As we expanded, we carefully brought together a team of clinicians who not only share this vision but also bring their own specialized training, lived experiences, and therapeutic passions.
Today, IPG is proud to be a hub where clients can access therapy that ranges from traditional talk therapy to advanced modalities like EMDR and Hypnotherapy, from individual and couples work to deeply transformative group therapy. The story of our practice is one of building community: among our clinicians, with our clients, and with the broader professional world of mental health care.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any meaningful journey, building Integrative Psychotherapy Group has had its share of obstacles. Transitioning from a solo practice into a multi-clinician group meant learning how to balance the intimacy of individualized care with the structure required to support an entire team. Recruiting clinicians wasn’t just about credentials—it was about finding professionals whose therapeutic presence aligned with our ethos of empathy, inclusivity, and integrity.
The COVID-19 pandemic was one of the most defining challenges. Overnight, we had to reimagine how therapy could work. While the shift to telehealth was daunting at first, it ultimately became an expansion point—allowing us to reach clients not only across California but also in New York and Florida. Yet, the absence of in-person connection during that time highlighted something profound: there is a depth and immediacy that comes from sharing a physical space with another person that cannot be fully replicated on a screen. The energy in the room, the pauses, the unspoken cues—there is something meaningful, sometimes even magical, about being face-to-face.
That experience strengthened our commitment to offering in-person therapy at a time when many practices remain exclusively telehealth. While we continue to provide virtual care for accessibility and convenience, we also believe there needs to be a renewed push for more human-to-human contact. Clients deserve the choice to engage in therapy in ways that feel most restorative and healing, whether through the connection of sitting across from a therapist in our offices or connecting virtually from home.
Another challenge we’ve encountered is helping clients and communities confront lingering stigma around mental health and therapy. Many arrive carrying the belief that they “should” manage struggles alone, or that seeking therapy is a sign of weakness. Our team has made it a priority to dismantle that narrative—normalizing therapy as a strength, a proactive investment in one’s well-being, and a path toward healthier relationships.
These challenges have shaped us into a stronger, more resilient practice. Each obstacle has reinforced our mission: to offer clients a safe and innovative therapeutic environment that grows and evolves with them.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Integrative Psychotherapy Group is a comprehensive mental health practice with a team of clinicians whose specialties span a wide range of needs, allowing us to provide care that is both highly individualized and deeply comprehensive. We offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy, alongside advanced treatments such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Hypnotherapy, and Relational Life Therapy (RLT).
RLT is one of the cornerstones of our couples and relational work. Currently, the majority of our team is pursuing advanced certification in RLT—a groundbreaking approach that goes beyond traditional couples therapy. In simple terms, RLT is a therapeutic approach that many couples seek out after finding traditional couples counseling ineffective. This modality helps partners break repetitive cycles of blame, withdrawal, or conflict by teaching direct, respectful communication and fostering accountability. It is about building relationships where honesty and empathy can co-exist, allowing couples to not only repair but also transform the way they connect.
Our clinicians bring expertise across a wide spectrum of specialties:
–Addiction and Recovery – supporting clients in breaking free from destructive cycles and building sustainable paths toward health.
–Eating Disorders and Body Image – helping clients develop healthier relationships with food and themselves.
–Perinatal, Prenatal, and Postpartum Support – guiding individuals and families through the emotional complexities of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and parenthood.
–New Fathers’ Mental Health – addressing the unique emotional challenges of fatherhood, from identity shifts to balancing partnership, parenting, and personal well-being.
–Pet Loss and Grief – offering compassionate support for a form of grief that is often overlooked but profoundly felt.
–Parents and Adult Children – navigating the complex dynamics of evolving family relationships with care and clarity.
–Trauma and PTSD – using approaches like EMDR to help clients heal from past experiences.
–Couples and Relationship Work – with advanced training in RLT, our clinicians help couples strengthen intimacy, communication, and resilience.
–Group Therapy – a rare and powerful modality, facilitated by certified group therapists, where clients learn about themselves through real-time connection and feedback.
What sets IPG apart is not only the range of services we provide, but also our integrative, team-based approach. One client may begin with individual therapy for anxiety, later join a Gay Men’s Group for deeper interpersonal exploration, while another might combine couples therapy with EMDR to address trauma impacting the relationship. Because we are a group, we can match clients with the therapist whose expertise and personality best fit their needs, and we can seamlessly adjust care as those needs evolve.
We also recognize that some clients—whether public figures, executives, or individuals navigating health and mobility challenges—require services that go beyond the standard model of therapy. For these clients, we offer concierge options designed to provide the highest degree of privacy, flexibility, and accessibility. This ensures that therapy remains both confidential and practical, no matter the circumstances.
Our brand is built on a commitment to clinical excellence and inclusivity. Therapy at IPG is never one-size-fits-all—it is a deeply personal journey, tailored to the individual, couple, or family. What we are most proud of, brand-wise, is that clients consistently tell us they feel truly seen here. In an era where therapy can sometimes feel transactional, IPG is known for providing care that is both professional and profoundly human—exclusive in its quality and experience.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Our advice for new clinicians—and really, for anyone starting a venture in the helping professions—is to build your foundation on authenticity, collaboration, and genuine passion for the community you serve. Technical skills matter, but what matters even more is your ability to show up as a real, grounded presence for your clients and your community. Clients may forget the exact intervention you used, but they’ll always remember how they felt in your care and how you showed up for them in times of need.
At IPG, this philosophy was put to the test when the Los Angeles and Palisades fires deeply impacted the communities around us. We knew we couldn’t just sit on the sidelines. In addition to offering pro bono therapy sessions for those directly affected by the tragedy, we created free workshops and presentations to support parents navigating the emotional toll of the fires with their children and spouses. Being part of a helping profession means stepping in when people need it most—and those experiences reminded us that the work of therapy extends beyond the therapy room.
For those launching a practice, we also encourage patience and perseverance. Growth takes time, and sustainability comes from pacing yourself. Many of us wish we had known earlier that investing in systems and structures—whether for scheduling, billing, or supervision—frees you to focus more fully on client care and on being present when your community calls on you.
Collaboration is another lesson we emphasize. At IPG, consultation and teamwork are not luxuries; they are part of the fabric of our practice. No therapist should work in isolation, and no client should feel like they are facing life’s challenges alone. By creating a community of clinicians, we’ve learned that shared wisdom and mutual support strengthen not only us as therapists but also the care we can provide to clients.
Ultimately, we encourage new therapists to embrace specialization while remaining adaptable. Some of our clinicians came to IPG with a passion for group therapy, others for postpartum care, others for trauma recovery, addiction work, or relational life therapy. Those specialties give each of us depth, but what makes us strong as a practice is the willingness to learn from one another and stay open to new modalities. Our willingness to keep growing ensures that our clients benefit from therapy that is both current and deeply attuned.
