Community Highlights: Meet Kylie Nielsen of Elevation Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie Nielsen.

Hi Kylie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Dance has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I didn’t just make my parents sit down and watch my performances—I made my brother learn choreography with me, helped us put together costumes, and turned every living room into a stage. I loved it all—not just the dancing, but the process: the music, the laughter while getting ready, and the shared experience of it all.

As I got older, that love only grew and eventually turned into something even bigger than I could have imagined. Now, owning Elevation Studios, my greatest joy isn’t just in the dancing—it’s in the community we’ve created. Watching young dancers walk into the space and feel like they belong, seeing them support one another and find their confidence—that’s the most meaningful part of it all.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I really believe the best things in life come with hard work and a little struggle. Owning a business—especially a dance studio—definitely comes with its challenges. There are all the typical day-to-day hurdles that come with running something this personal and ever-evolving (though, for the record, I truly have the best dance moms!).

But the struggle that’s meant the most to me has been learning how to keep growing. You can’t just repeat the same thing year after year and expect dancers and families to stay excited or inspired. So I’m always pushing to evolve—to create new experiences, to keep things fresh while staying true to our values, and to make sure our dancers feel seen, challenged, and supported.

Elevation Studios is a dance studio for everyone—from your youngest beginner to adults rediscovering their love of movement. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse and well-rounded curriculum that supports dancers at every level, in every style, and for every kind of dream. Whether someone is training seriously or just looking to move and have fun, we meet them where they are and help them grow.

What really sets us apart is the sense of community we’ve created. Yes, we’re focused on excellent training—but just as much, we pour into making the studio feel like a second home. Our dancers and families know they’re walking into a space where they’re supported, celebrated, and seen—not just as dancers, but as people.

Brand-wise, that’s what I’m most proud of. Elevation isn’t just about steps and technique. It’s about connection, confidence, creativity, and growing together.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That everything always works out the way it’s meant to. As cliché as it sounds, you really do have to trust the process. I’ve learned that if you lead with love, stay true to who you are, and stay rooted in your purpose, what’s meant for you will never miss you.

It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure or the plans, but the real magic is in the unfolding—so enjoy the ride.
