Today we’d like to introduce you to Kinna Lindahl.
Hi Kinna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Sweden. I moved to LA in my early twenties and started studying at UCLA. I worked as a set dresser for commercials and as a prop stylist for Bon Appetit magazine for many years. I also did some modeling and acting.
After becoming a mom, and wanting to work closer to home, I slowly started transitioning into home staging. I concentrate on occupied staging where I work closely with the realtor and seller. I will make recommendations and often use what the seller already has in the form of furniture. I will then bring in accessories and sometimes furniture from my own inventory to modernize the space… It’s hard work but very rewarding!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?It’s been smooth for the most part. I communicate with the seller ahead of time to let them know we’re staging to showcase the home to a wide audience to get the highest return on investment, we’re not interior decorators. Still, we try to accommodate special requests from the realtor or the seller.
We’ve been impressed with Dekorologi, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a home staging service specializing in staging consultations and occupied staging. Sometimes all that’s needed is a thorough consultation, and the seller can take it from there. I love working with people and guide them through a somewhat stressful time of their life alongside their realtor… Being from Sweden, I gravitate towards modern and minimalistic, but I try to add warmth, color and texture to make the potential buyer feel at home.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters the most to me is family, my two beautiful daughters, and the rest of my family in Sweden. To have a balance between work and family and to teach my daughters to create that balance in life, as well.
