Hi Juliana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Journey: From Dream to Reality
I arrived in the United States at the beginning of 2018 with a big dream: to be someone who could transform women’s lives. I have always believed that well-being goes beyond aesthetics, and my purpose was to create a space where every woman could feel cared for, renewed, and empowered.
As soon as I arrived, I enrolled in a massage school while working in a factory in downtown Los Angeles. It was a challenging period, but I knew that each step brought me closer to my mission. As soon as I finished my studies and obtained my state license, I started working in a spa while also building my own clientele through house calls.
Then the pandemic hit. The world stopped, and so did my journey. However, in 2021, my heart told me it was time to take a new step: starting my own business. At first, I looked for a space in Beverly Hills, but God led me to the best place I could have found: Hermosa Beach!
I rented my first room, full of hope, thinking my schedule would fill up quickly. But reality was different, it took three months. During that time, I split my days between working at a spa in downtown LA and growing my own studio. But after just three months, I was able to fully dedicate myself to Detox & Relax!
Since 2022, a new dream has been growing within me: to expand my spa and create a space that was more than just lymphatic drainage and body treatments—**a true sanctuary for the body, mind, and soul. I envisioned an environment where women could feel welcomed, cared for, and transformed. A place for events, workshops, dance classes, and moments of connection and well-being.
And in 2024, that dream finally found its perfect home. Within Detox & Relax, Saucha – Our Happy Place was born: a sanctuary of balance and renewal, a fitness and wellness studio offering pilates, yoga, zouk, and events that celebrate the body and soul.
Every challenge, every achievement, and every client who has been part of this journey has made it all worthwhile. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for everything I’ve experienced so far and for everything that is still to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of my biggest challenges was the language barrier. Starting from scratch in a new country with a different language as an adult is not easy. But I was fortunate, my clients were incredible and helped me overcome this challenge.
Today, after years of learning and adapting, I feel confident connecting with every amazing woman who walks into my spa.
