Today we’d like to introduce you to Joi T.

Hi Joi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a registered nurse for over 10 years, with a background in neonatal and pediatric case management. After becoming a mom, I started to rethink what work-life balance could look like. I was drawn to medical aesthetics because it allowed me to blend my clinical skills with creativity, while still caring for others in a meaningful way. I trained through Persimmon Academy and now run my own concierge aesthetic practice from home, offering personalized treatments in a setting that feels calm, private, and intentional. It’s been a rewarding journey of building something of my own while staying rooted in purpose and family.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road — but every challenge has shaped me. Starting something new meant stepping out of a secure nursing career and facing fears around stability, judgment, and self-doubt. As a mom of two, balancing family life while building a business hasn’t always been easy. Learning the business side of aesthetics — especially marketing and social media — was also a whole new world for me. But through it all, I’ve learned to trust myself, stay grounded in my “why,” and keep going — even when it’s uncomfortable.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is a concierge aesthetic practice based in my home, where I provide personalized treatments like Botox, Dermastamping, and chemical peels. What sets me apart is the dedicated, personalized care and close attention to detail I give each client—I create a calm, private environment where clients feel truly seen and valued, not just another appointment on the schedule. I specialize in enhancing natural beauty with subtle, effective results, helping people feel confident in their own skin.

I’m proud to offer a luxury experience that’s approachable and rooted in trust and education. I’m also continually investing in advanced training so I can expand my offerings and stay current with the best techniques in the industry. In addition to individual appointments, I’m available for group events and pop-ups, creating fun, safe spaces for people to learn about and experience aesthetic treatments. My goal is to build lasting relationships with clients and support them in feeling their best, inside and out.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Starting something on my own was scary, but I’ve learned to lean into fear, trust my instincts, and stay connected to my purpose. You don’t have to have it all figured out — you just have to keep showing up and taking the next right step.
