Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Seven years ago, I was promoted into a regional coaching role at a multinational bank. The position was eliminated as fast as it was created. I had to make a choice – either go back to a managerial position or take a severance package. I was at the bank for more than 11 years. Quickly climbing the corporate ladder and within three years became a young manager at the age of 25! I consistently surpassed goals, managing large and larger flagship locations and ranked the top 1% of branches in the nation! With much debate, I decided to take the package to set my journey in the world of entrepreneurship. With the knowledge, experience, and credentials – I knew in my heart I needed to take this opportunity to explore my options.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth transition. Having a stable income – getting paid every two weeks to having to invest and have no consistent income was a struggle in the beginning. My first year or two was trying to figure out what I was meant to do in the world of financial and insurance. I was licensed to offer everything from financial planning and securities to insurance (home, auto, commercial, life, health and medicare) I used this time to learn new things and to find out what my true calling was! I worked with mainly business owners, teachers and eventually the senior market!
