Hi James, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The journey of RGE Cares began with a deep-rooted passion for education and a commitment to making a difference in our community. As a small group of dedicated educators and community advocates, we saw a pressing need to empower youth in underserved areas by providing them with access to quality education and college preparation resources.
I, had experienced firsthand the transformative power of education in his own life and was determined to pay it forward. He gathered a group of like-minded individuals, including educators, mentors, and parents, who shared his vision of creating a positive, nurturing environment where young minds could thrive.
Together, we officially established RGE Cares with a mission to empower youth through one-on-one tutoring and college preparation. From humble beginnings in a small community center, they gradually expanded their reach, forging partnerships with local schools and enlisting passionate volunteers.
Over the years, the organization grew, fueled by the unwavering dedication of its volunteers and the impact it made on the lives of countless young students. Today, RGE Cares stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the next generation, driven by the belief that education is the key to creating lasting change within our community.
Our journey as small business owners turned nonprofit leaders has been defined by the resilience of our team, the support of our community, and the belief that together, we can inspire personal, academic, and professional excellence in the youth we serve.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a pretty smooth road, due to my previous experience interning through my mentors Robin Petgrave and Debra Larry at Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum. So, at a very young age I had the chance to learn the behind the scenes of how a non profit functions and how to make it successful.
